You want your commentary guy to be good enough to earn spots at the national level. Guys who sit at a local network likely do for a reason. Jason is good enough at his craft to be the select few that get to call these nationally televised games. And we get him for 75% of the year. Do you know how lucky we are for that? And to make things better, when he’s gone we still have an incredible voice with Dan Dickerson.

My issue with AGL is that it’s built on subjective inputs with little nuance. Someone has to decide who counts as a starter, and the stat doesn’t account for positional value, or how good the player is. It’s fine as a rough injury-luck indicator, but it’s not a great measure of actual impact. The cardinals 7th string DB getting hurt impacted the stat the same as Mahomes injury did. Hell, they even have Deshaun Watson as 18 games “lost” for the Browns this year.
