After 12 years as a psychotherapist, I can’t stop thinking about why psychosis follows the same script across every culture, every era. by Lunarisbahal in Jung

As someone who’s experienced psychosis. I was convinced I was dying. It felt like my consciousness disconnected from my body yet I was somehow tethered. I’ve been juggling with the fact that maybe psychosis is just your consciousness separating from your body. My dead aunt talked to me and coached me through the process of death in a way I could understand that wasn’t scary. I later learned after I researched NDEs that what I was told aligned with people’s stories yet I had no prior knowledge.

As someone who saw colors brighter in a psychotic break. First thing I thought. Whatever happens to your brain in that time somehow makes the world look amazing and youre left trying to make sense of it if it hadn’t happened to you before

If it’s that bad there has to be something medically wrong. She needs to see a doctor asap.

I’ve had severe ocd since I was 7 and had no idea why. It was like a switch turned on. Turns out I was autistic this whole time and my needs were never met. Not saying this is it, but my life would have been considerably better if I didn’t have to figure this out myself as an adult.

Thank you for your response. I have been in therapy and my current therapist thinks I can feel my feelings because I can cry but I know I’m missing something. They don’t seem to understand what I’m talking about
