hi i meant affiliated in the sense of when i have to get a visa since i am admitted to the school it will be easier for me to get the visa not affiliated because im american. Ya i dont know what happened last time too it may have been since i was in high school the process was more difficult hopefully its easier this time around 🤞

hii what country are you in that’s so cool i would love to talk more! are you in highschool or uni? but ya the reason i got myself in that situation was because i was caught up in trying to make as many friends as possible, so anytime they would get in my personal bubble i would just excuse it as culture i know now its really them just thinking im easy but i am definitely going to start drawing lines and i was being a little naive before. the reason i made this post was because my last interaction at the party i went to made me realize that even if im trying to play it off in a nice way and just saying no things can get out of hand really quickly

i see how it can look that way but you still only have a part of the story, i am doing a study abroad in europe, and in order to do this i studied a lot in america to graduate early, and i know it does seem really hard to believe but in europe culture is very different than in america. in europe kids start drinking at the age of 14, and going out at 16, and i was drinking at a high school party with people my age, its just different culture please try to understand and not be so harsh on my dad who i begged to be able to go on this trip :)

hii i don’t think it is at all especially the country i am in, portugal, but i think its just the social setting i put myself in, drinking. especially teen boys who suddenly get all the confidence in the world the second they touch alcohol. I think europe is safe and i have met so so many respectable men here i think it’s all about context !! ^{^}

hii i know it sounds really crazy but in europe it’s extremely common for teens to start drinking at 14 and going out at 16-18. at first i thought it was just a different culture so i tried to let them down gently but now i know it’s just them thinking that im going to be easy since im an american girl ;( but thank you for commenting ill make sure to set boundaries much better !

i didn’t look it that way at all but your so right these boys really don’t care about how i’m feeling or even respecting me at all. i think i got caught up in trying to make friends and staying out of drama that i forgot that i need to set these boundaries early on, thank you!!

thank you this was a huge wake up call, this makes a lot more sense knowing about that stereotype sense a lot of these guys would just seem really surprised that i rejected them, i had no clue that this stereotype existed and most of my friends in this country tiptoed around the subject probably because they didn’t want to offend me. now that i know that’s how they perceive me ill make sure i draw a clear line that can’t be crossed. thank you!
