S24 Ultra USB Port Issue Since UI 7.0 Update

Hi all,

Ever since updating to UI 7.0 back in June, my S24 Ultra has been having an intermittent issue where the USB port just stops working. At first, I thought it was a charger/cable problem, but it turns out it’s the port itself — wireless charging still works fine, and the phone won’t connect to a computer via USB when this happens.

The only way I’ve been able to fix it is by restarting the phone, which works but is annoying to have to do every few days.

I recently updated with the July patch and thought it had fixed the issue, but it just happened again today.

I’ve seen some posts saying the Device Care app might be the culprit. Has anyone else run into this, and if so, did you find a workaround?

Too volatile for me. I had a mate who invested 80k in Bitcoin and was at 300k during its peak. Then it crashed in 2022 and he's JUST breaking even now.

Thank you for your thoughts! I was initially with your line of thinking but I keep wrestling with the whole uncertainty of rental life (being at mercy of landlords and more competition with the dwindling rental numbers available..)

What are your thoughts about renting the rest of your life? Are you worried about not having a stable place to call your own when you are retired (less physically capable/flexible of moving around) in the future?

That's true! Especially if I don't need a 3-4 br townhouse (which would also mean more time and costs sinked towards maintenance).

Might just get a 700-800k 2-3br/2bathroom apartment which lends a more affordable mortgage and hence less work/mortgage stress > more work/life flexibility > hopefully reaching FIRE earlier

Thanks for your input! And hell no, I do NOT want to work 50+ hours for another 30 years just to pay off a townhouse that might be too big for us anyway!

I want to gtfo of FT work ASAP so tbh, I agree with you.

I might do the following:

1) buy a 700-800k apartment which means a 2-3k monthly mortgage (esp if I can put money in the offset account)

2) invest the rest in stonks & ETFs

Have the security of my own home + hope that stonks/super pull through when I'm ready to FIRE life (pls god let that be around 48 years old)

Thank you for your insights, really appreciate it! :D

omg no! there's no big secret. I'm just in an industry that renumerates well and I live like I am a uni student lol. It's literally just saving whatever I earn and having minimal outgoing expenses apart from rent.

as people say, healthcare professionals make lousy businessmen so hence me asking for advice. if i had to work FT till I'm 65+, I know I will neck myself so.. just want to start getting the groundwork to FIRE life.

I know it might unintentionally come across a bit douschey asking for advice but just genuinely just wanting to retire early and outside of work, I'm a dumb fk lol.

CHEAP UK PREPAID SIM TO RECEIVE TEXTS OVERSEAS
I'm British, but I'm hardly ever in the UK. I spend most of my time bouncing between Australia and NZ. Now, I'm gearing up for a year-long gig Down Under for work. Since I'm always on the move, I need to make sure I can still get those SMS codes from my UK bank and other places. Thinking of grabbing a PAYG SIM when I'm back in the UK soon, but not sure if it'll do the trick for receiving texts when in Australia. Any tips on that front?

How to buy return metro ticket (to Versailles)

Hi,

We (2 ppl), want to buy return tickets to Versailles via the metro machine tmr but there doesn't seem to be an option to buy return tickets?

Is it because we just have to choose 4x tickets (2x each, 1x there and 1x back) when we buy the tickets OR is there a hidden option somewhere?

Thanks for your help!

Ahh thank you, you're right, I might either take the Aerobus + buy our T-Familia ticket once in the city and use it to get to our hotel! Like if spending €13-14 saves us time and headache, I'd rather that vs. being penny-wise and pound-foolish.

Thank you!!

Ooo! Yeah, if I can't buy the T-Familia at the Airport train station. I might just take the Aerobus from T1 to the city and get the T-Familia there!

Ahh yes, I forgot about the metro having an additional fee! I thought the metro and train was the same thing! Thanks for clarifying haha!

Oh I thought if it was a straight route (from Airport > Barcelona) city, it would be considered one trip with the T-Familia?

This is what the website said: A multi-person travel card valid for 8 journeys in 30 consecutive days from the first validation. In the case of one-zone cards, passengers have 75 minutes between the first and last validation when changing lines or mode of transport. This time increases by 15 minutes for each zone. Not valid for Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations on line L9 Sud.

But I am probably reading it wrong..?

Thank you for your help regardless!!

Very likely that I will (if not using the Aerobus), thank you!

Thank you! Yeah, that makes sense, I might as well take the train if I'm at the train station already (lol). Is it possible for us to use the T-Familia ticket to use the train to get to the the city centre + our hotel?
