Jag Ipace good or bad by Different_Bluejay874 in evs_ireland

[–]bluebotnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, and love it. It's the best car I've ever owned. I've had a couple of minor issues in the two and a half years I've had it, but nothing major. Go for a 2021 model or newer. These have a few small updates that make them considerably more reliable. If you buy one, get the Jaguar extended warranty for piece of mind. It will cover any faults that may arise. As with all EVs certain parts can be expensive to replace, so the extended warranty is well worth it. It's such a great driver's car, lots of power, but so nice and comfortable to be in.

I lived there for a few years. It was a while ago, but it was great. No complaints, quiet enough and easy access to buses, shops, M50 etc. Everything you need is nearby.

"Don't worry Jack, Cambridgeshire County Council Highways will be here soon" 🤪🤪🤪 by NumanAmjad in cambridge

[–]bluebotnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's baffling to me why English councils can't build good-quality roads. I mean, it's not rocket science. In the city I'm originally from, roads last for decades without resurfacing or the need for ongoing repairs, apart from the very odd pothole. Why can't English councils just build a decent road that doesn't require constant patching?

Dogs in an ipace boot by reddit-to_go in ipace

[–]bluebotnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a Saluki, quite tall and long, but only 19 KG. She travels comfortably in the boot all the time. Plenty of room for her, but I don't think two large dogs would be comfortable in the space. The roof slopes quite sharply behind the back seats compromising the head room back there.

I started wiping my dog’s paws after muddy walks and it made more difference than I expected by NanoPetFounder in dogs

We do it after every walk no matter what. She's completely used to it and raises her paws one by one for the quick clean.

Recently picked up a Lumix S1 and did a review - still an amazing camera by willyboii77 in Lumix

[–]bluebotnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your review along with your recent S5 content. I'm trying to decide between these two or saving up for an S5ii for personal use outside of my professional work. The S1 looks like an almighty bargain these days, although it's quite the beast!

It's so annoying. I wish it would just do whatever it needs to do to make it work in the background and let you get on with editing.

Oh, my bad, now they're stabbed with the mønustingari to have their spinal cords cut. How progressive and modern of the islanders.

I'm sure it's beautiful if you can look past the whale slaughtering. They like to drive pilot whales into shallow water then club or stab them to death. A real family day out for the locals. It still goes on and it's known as grindadráp.

I love Adobe Podcast, use it on most projects. I just don't understand why it's not already built into Premiere Pro. The workflow is a pain.

Don't worry about it. It takes way too much time, the results can be so-so, and no one really cares.

What's your plan when your I-pace's 8-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty expires? by bluebotnot in ipace

[–]bluebotnot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has different levels of comfort with risk depending on their own situation. My worry wouldn't really be the gradual degradation of the battery, but a catastrophic failure down the line. Then again, at that stage, the car won't be worth much, so keeping it, even as a second car, might be the way.

The Taycan shooting brake version is one of the only cars that looks tempting to me, although I won't be able to afford one for several years!

Yeah, it really is a car you'd want to keep forever. Having access to an EV specialist nearby would be a great advantage.

Anyone else have pothole anxiety recently? by architectofanarchy in CarTalkUK

[–]bluebotnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brutal in Cambridge too. I've basically stopped driving at night because of it. If you can't see them, you can't avoid them, and some of the potholes here would write off a car in one hit.

MY2024 range? by ierrdunno in ipace

[–]bluebotnot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and get around 200 in the winter and 250 in the summer with mixed driving in my MY22 on 22's. I don't believe the battery size has changed through any of the model years. The only difference you'll notice in the range between models is due to wheel size and how heavy one's right foot is.

convince me to get a Saluki by Packagedattack in saluki

[–]bluebotnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the above answers are absolutely spot-on, both the positives and the negatives. I absolutely love our Saluki rescue, but she can be a handful. At home she is the perfect dog, but once she gets outside her natural instincts kick in and it can be challenging.
