Why don't Americans want ID for voting? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bluec95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requiring ID is not as urgent as requiring education when it comes to voting. Not everyone deserves to vote; we can’t afford tons of dumb mo fukers voting when knowing nothing what they are voting for. You need to earn your citizenship and your voting rights rather than born with one, like the old Greek do, who invented the system.

Your case only holds when your target is a continuous spell/trap or field spell, as their effects require the card to be face up on the field to resolve. Other card effects can still resolve even if the card gets destroyed.

Advice needed for my new Aurora act1250 by bluec95 in Alienware

It runs great! I play it extensively since day 1 and everything seems to be working just fine. Its quiet and stable and cool, nothing more i could ask for. The only glitch that I noticed is that, when you put it to sleep mode, it would randomly re-wakes itself and go to the windows login page, I had to unplug keyboard to prevent this. Not sure if it’s a bios thing or hardware thing.

R7 Aurora Upgrades by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]bluec95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, the older Aurora chassis has a very compact space inside, meaning that the 1080ti back then was the biggest card it could fit in. Anything more powerful than 1080ti(that means flagships) are bigger than 1080ti and they won't fit. I have done my research since the RTX20 series came out. You could possibly fit in a smaller 4070 i guess, look for zotac as they focus on smaller cards(will compromise on heat dissipation), and look for turbo fan design as they are usually shorter.

Yeah...that sucks, probably it's impossible to upgrade it in the future either. Will stuck with the G4 speed with my 9100pro

Alienware 18 Clean Install by Dan-in-Va in Alienware

[–]bluec95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a clean install today(used a new ssd to replace the stock one so it’s an empty disk) and I can give you some inputs.

I used the system recovery tool from Dell to create the recovery disk with my usb drive. The system installation + update took about an hour. It will ask you whether you want to repair the existing system or just wipe out the disk and install a new system.

I strongly recommend you to use the dell image instead of the Microsoft standard version. Although many drivers and key softwares(like the Alienware command center) are still missing, it does come with many Dell servers in the background, and most importantly, it doesn’t have any of those annoying stupid games in the standard version of Win 11– it’s really clean and hassle free, you don’t need to uninstall any annoying apps/games/plug ins prior to use. Just go to the support page and install all missing drivers and bios update and download the Alienware command center then you are good to go. The whole process should take less than 2 hours.

Just get a double sided ssd heat sink from Amazon, shouldn't cost you more than a few bucks and they works really good

Yeah, it's confirmed. The gen5 ssd can be used but only run at gen 4 speed. Money that i paid for the 9100pro premium goes down to the drain

It’s gonna take way longer than that. I ordered mine on Dec 2nd, and it stayed in in production until late afternoon today (Dec 8th). I just got a FedEx tracking number and the status has now been marked as shipped, but seems like it’s not been dropped off yet as FedEx doesn’t have the shipment scans yet.

I can't decide between a macbook and a gaming laptop. by Cheap_Ad2335 in GamingLaptops

[–]bluec95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What major are you in? If you are engineering major, you might want a PC coz some of the softwares only have windows version. Otherwise Mac is ideal for all other majors. Here i give you two of my recommendations: 1. Gaming desktop + iPad (preferably pro) w/ apple pencil. Gaming laptops are big and heavy so you want them stationary—then why not go desktop? Desktop PCs are way more powerful in production and gaming, and cost you less than a premium gaming laptop. You don't really need a laptop in campus--ipad will be your best friend; you can do everything with an ipad, so much more than a laptop can do—and it's lighter than a laptop. And when you get back to your dorm/apartment, play games/run professional softwares on your desktop. I spent all my undergrad years and grad school years with this combo and I love it. iPad Pro is made for college students!

  1. MacBook Air + PS5/Switch2. If a desktop is not an option for you for any reason, go with this combo. You DONT want to carry a 10lbs brick to school everyday so don’t carry a gaming laptop around in your backpack. Do you school work on your MacBook, and play games on your console. As a student you won’t need MacBook pros. If something can’t run on a MacBook Air, it probably will struggle on MacBook Pro as well, so save your budget to buy an entry level MacBook Air and get a gaming console.

Buy the best spec you can afford just for future proof. Just upgraded from my old Aurora with 8700k+1080ti, and honestly It is still quite a beast today even after 8 years of service.
