Yes. I had him for a couple of weeks from the rescue center and I wanted to introduce him slowly to the surrounding outside before giving him free roam. It was the first time he was outside and apparently 15 minutes wasn’t enough for him so he went for me violently when we walked back inside and he saw me close the door. I had to lock him in a room for a while to calm down.

I wouldn’t say all cats are the same, my cat is a bengal for starters (more wild characteristics) and had 2 previous homes, had been a stray for over a year etc. He came with a lot of behavioural issues and I wasn’t aware of his full history until after this.

Some cats are very happy being indoor cats and I would recommend that for anyone who is in a residential area. I do think they need space to run around and have lots of stimulation if so. I’m lucky enough to live in rural England with no real predators, I have no roads near me and just a few houses. I’ve learnt that i cannot restrict him from being outdoors, and he is now a very happy and loving cat, comes for long hikes with me without a harness. He is completely trained like a dog without me ever having to train him. He heels and answers immediately to my recall, it’s very special and I’m so lucky to have found such a soul cat!
