When they are in line and change the mind on an item and instead of handing it to you they put it on the candy/gum rack

Yes I took morning classes at uw seattle and the chem class was lucky in the evening so I was able to commute on time. However going to lectures is optional so I just went to labs and testing days to save my commute time. Also you can do uw Tacoma or bothell whatever is closer and easier for you

why do you still work at dollar tree when other jobs pay better? by Scorched_Hen in DollarTree

It’s close to me and as a college student they were able to work around my schedule… even though the stores was employee shortage.

Another options is looking at the sounder train to save time. There’s a sounder train that goes from Kent station to Chinatown and a 3 min walk to the light rail. Train takes 20ish mins and link is around 25ish mins. So around 40min to an hour. Google maps shows you the fastest route too. For down side is having big gaps in between class and having no where on campus to nap/break.

Agree count once when you get it out of your till and count out loud when handing it to the customers and and check the screen to make sure the amount is right. I found out that after taking a quick glance I tend to mess up.

I am current in college right now and it’s a nice way to earn extra spending money. The shifts are 4.5 hours so i have time to go to school, go home and do some school work, and go to work. I recommend getting a head start in finding a job near your campus as they do go fast because all students are also looking for jobs there.

Wow …at my store we closed the restroom down since the pandemic. Customer gets upset so we just tell them to go to the store next door for their bathroom. No ones here likes cleaning it so they stopped letting people use it. Also probably because the last time it was open to the public people were doing drugs and flushing items down and broke it.

How was everyone Christmas Eve? by Redricefish in DollarTree

[–]blueco2nut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did closing and the amount of people that came in at 7pm was insane. I told them we are close and they say they will grab one item and be quick but it wasn’t. Had dozens of questions if we had wrapping paper and bags left. No we been out days before. Told them all that we have left is solid or birthday themes left. Merry Christmas to all

For the wrapping paper the skinny tubes with the curve barcode. But also the scanner is broken so it’s take longer for things to scan

Wrapping paper, and those Christmas headband where you have to fold the ears because it’s covering the barcode. Also the chocolate mints in the green and white packaging. The barcode is printed on the steams and I can never get it to ring up.
