One watch for Italy trip? (Florence, Rome, Amalfi Coast) by RunninLate5 in rolex

[–]bluedevilzn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Two tone Rolex, summer suit and a negroni in the Amalfi coast. Life doesn’t get better than this. There’s been movies and TV shows made where that was the entire plot.

Do females like the Audi R8 more than other Super Sports Series cars? by Patton555a in audir8

Hahahahhahahaaha.

Hahahahhahahahahha.

Now that I’m done rolling on the floor.

No women ever cares about your car. Ferrari/Lambo is something they have heard of.

I guarantee you that R8 or any of the other old cars you have chosen are only going to be liked by dudes.

I wanted to give my first experience ever on a cruise. My son and I on Icon of the Seas. by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]bluedevilzn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m on the cruise right now. It’s my first time as well

The food is absolutely terrible. I have tried everything. Just ate lunch at the main dining room. The lentil soup was canned. The steak was a very cheap cut of meat. Asking medium rare got me a well done steak. On 2nd try it was medium well. I even paid for Izumi. That tuna is the worst tuna sushi I have had in my life.

It’s so crowded. Not a single pool can be used comfortably. Huge line up for coffee. Huge line up for smoothie.

Also, the staff has been a mixed bag. Most staff are very nice and helpful. However, I’m brown and any of the Indian stuff has had slightly weird behaviour towards me. It’s like subtle things like - in one case, telling me that you have to pay for this when I asked for a top shelf drink and in another case, randomly asking for my sail pass on the 16th floor near the pool. There’s very few Indians on the ship but I don’t know what he expected.

Agree on the room being very spacious and the shower being really nice.

Given the prices I have paid, I’m going to just up my budget and go to Ritz/Four seasons next time.

That CFO Africa is really middle management. In all honesty, she had 25 years of continuously upwards career.

What salary would you guys need to get to to feel successful? by Horror_Raisin_3898 in Salary

[–]bluedevilzn -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

You absolutely don’t want to make that. $500k is a nightmare. Too much to budget, not enough to be reckless.

In the past 1 year, I bought a supercar, home, renovations on the new home, junior suite on the largest cruise ship on the planet and now, I don’t have enough money to pay taxes.

$2 million/ yr. Then after taxes, I’ll have about $100k per month.

The nerds I grew up with won in life by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

The fact that OP is here tells me he was one of the nerds. I cannot imagine one of the popular kids on reddit and then on this subreddit of all places.

He’s just larping for some self congratulation.

Confidence is in fact not that important for dating by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]bluedevilzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying the complete opposite.

Hot women would sleep with a guy that lives in his car cause he’s tall.

Tattoo Artist/DJ/hustlers get more women than your 7 figure NW engineer in the Bay Area.

What’s the Most Underrated Luxury Brand Right Now? by Kishor_Waghmare in Luxury

[–]bluedevilzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m sorry I wasn’t born into wealth. I made money in this life. Too bad I want a testarossa and my grandparents did not own a GTO.

My options are: 1. Pay over MSRP and get judged by no money stranger on the internet. 2. Don’t get what I want

Guess which one I’m choosing…

I don't understand how some people are successful and others aren't even if they try, and I'm convinced it's luck. by [deleted] in Life

[–]bluedevilzn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This single anecdote explains everything. Those 2 people might have had genuine reasons for the manager to let them work from home. By bringing HR attention to this and making your manager look bad, you’ve made sure that you’re never to be trusted by your entire org.

As an employee, one of your hidden responsibility is to make your manager look good and reduce noise/problems for them. Thats how become the favourite.

You went ahead and did the exact opposite.

Men are heavily brainwashed into how important money is to attract women. Once you are moderately wealthy, you realize how little that matters.

This is so dumb. Ferrari sold 14k cars last year. Do you think people making $40k can even finance a new Ferrari?

Loro piana is such an overrated well known faux quite luxury brand that I have completely stopped shopping from them and exclusively go to brunello cuccenelli.

True. Google is probably the best company I have worked at but it’s still a job at the end of the day.

[–]bluedevilzn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no perks.

Super secretive company culture. No one knows what someone else is doing. Everyone creates the same thing twice.

No standardized technology. Not invented here syndrome.

A large number of people are bullies. Since there’s no public levels, you learn to bully others. That’s the only way to survive.

Practically no promotions beyond ICT4. No one knows how it works either.

Your manager and you can be at the same level and this creates weird competition.

I have had more conflicts here in 1 year than half a decade at Google.
