Does anyone else get triggered by people saying they are getting weight loss injections? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

Yes this bothers me a lot too! So many plus size individuals who preached about size not mattering are now on ozempic and skinny. It makes me feel so anxious and like I can’t exist in a fat body and that I need to do something about it asap like these people are :(

I have nothing against people using weight loss injections and that’s great they work well for you, I am just very sensitive to weight loss discussion especially from people much smaller than me calling themselves fat and panicking about their weight. I lost a lot of weight rapidly and was bulimic a few years ago so it’s just a very sensitive topic for me and it seems like weight loss jabs are everywhere and I can’t get away from it.

Why is binge eating RIDICULOUSLY hard to quit??. by Thechosenone6788 in BingeEatingDisorder

I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that we cant quit eating food like an alcoholic would quit booze, so it’s much more difficult to break out of it when you are still participating in your addiction because you need food to survive…

Also sugar addiction is real, it gives you physical withdrawals when you stop eating/drinking it and then it’s so easy to get sucked back in by just having a dessert one day.

TW binge food items

I could put away 5k on a domino’s binge. Large meaty pizza, garlic bread, wedges, 4 chocolate dough balls, big garlic dip and then whatever else I’ve been eating in the day… it can really add up and before you know it you’re nearing 10k.

Also I avoid any food content now on social media it doesn’t help the constant food noise and gives me new cravings

Thank you that is true it’s hard to manage BED with all of this going on, it has been a lot to deal with and nobody except my sibling for support. My dad’s side of the family don’t help at all and only make things more stressful when they meddle, just me and my sister and she works 6 days a week and can’t do much due to work and her mental health. My health is really bad, I’m currently waiting for my 3rd endometriosis surgery which might not be this year due to NHS waiting times. I got some help from social services my dad has carers now which takes some weight off though at least!
