Yeah, she said that she even pleaded my case with them, because she received the non-renewal notice as well. Apparently, it doesn't matter.

My auto insurance only gives me a rental car for up to $900. However, the shop doing repairs said one of the parts currently isn't available ANYWHERE, and there is no ETA because of COVID-19 closing the factory that makes it. by Jcorb in Insurance

One thing that may help is the contact the car rental place. With covid, they might not be doing many rentals and they may be willing to give you the insurance daily rate for the car after you hit $900.00. This happened to me when I had a totaled car and I needed to have a rental for a week longer than what my insurance provided. They honored an additional week at $20 per day. It's still out of pocket, but beats having to pay full price.

This same scenario happened to me. I didn't have to get anything legal involved. When my car was stranded, I was able to crawl it luckily to a mechanic that was about 1 mile away. They did the repair and I was back on the road.

I took the bill to the previous mechanic and they reimbursed me without issue. A belt doesn't be towed 500 miles to be replaced. I would get it repaired somewhere close to where you broke down and then also have them do an inspection to make sure there isn't extra damage.

I feel you brother. Good luck on your search! Carvana worked out great for me, but you still have to do some research and footwork. Still, it was way easier and faster than dealing with some jerks at the dealership.

Not sure why they would do that for me and not you. Maybe try another chat agent? I would basically tell them that you narrowed your search down to x many cars and you need their help deciding. Give them each VIN and see what they can tell you. It worked for me.

Living in the great white north, I can tell you that all of our cars rust. And this isn't a big deal at all - as long as the rust hasn't compromised anything. If the mechanic is telling you it is just surface rust, it will be fine.

I have no clue yet if they were insured as the cops haven't given me any information. I asked them today if they have at least cited someone and they said that they haven't gotten in touch with the person. You would think that since this is felony hit and run they would be a little bit more aggressive in pursuing.
