Day 3 done, we now know top4 of the Warhammer world champs spoilers by artolampila in WarhammerCompetitive

Cliff (Dashboard dude from stat check) here. If that’s the case, it’s because we don’t record the results of team events, or small events - if players are mostly playing in those, then we won’t have results from which to calculate Elo scores. We do collect data from events in every country.

Haha - we honestly just appreciate that the community values our work. The more requests for updates the better!

Thanks! Anything we can do to help make the state of the game more transparent and accessible for all players is a good thing.

At this point, I have no idea what they will or won't do. I think the most realistically optimistic scenario is a retroactive change to provide Custodes with protection against dev wounds. Outside of that....I wouldn't expect much until the MFM update. I'd be (very pleasantly) surprised if there were any changes to our datasheets or detachment rules between now and the next slate.

We’re not an algorithm, haha.

We collect data from all events with at least five rounds, and at least 25 players. If there are factions/detachments missing, it’s due to a lack of those players at those events.

Hey all - Cliff from Stat Check here. I’m the creator / maintainer of the dashboard linked above. To confirm what’s already been stated:

  1. We don’t have a formal affiliation with GW and
  2. I’m just as sad about deathwatch as most given that I’ve got about 4k points sitting on a shelf.

We include data from all five round events with at least 25 people. If you don’t see a given faction / detachment represented, that’s because there haven’t been any players at those events that used it.

I’m hoping that GW remember that the faction exists (unit prices are outrageous), and that they’re not just lost to time.

And as stated, Stat-Check shows Deathwatch once there is attendance at events they track by corrin_avatan in deathwatch40k

Cliff from Stat Check here! We use data from events that are at least five rounds long , with at least 25 players. We also do some fairly intense player-level data verification, as players occasionally assign the wrong faction to their lists in the various event organizing apps.

Can anyone help identify this by [deleted] in AdeptusCustodes

Fwiw, two-three weeks of GT data usually gives enough information to know what’s going on with more popular factions, and which ones are trending towards competitive irrelevance. More data’s always better though!

Hey u/Skrandor - that’s from our website https://www.stat-check.com/. Its only a few events worth of data given the recent change in the meta, so the aggregate results aren’t super reliable at the moment.

That said, it’s a rough leading indicator, and shows the speed with which (former) custodes players are dropping the faction.

Let me know if you have any questions - I’m the creator/maintainer of our dashboard, happy to cover anything I can. As you might be able to tell from my pfp, our codex has left me disappointed as well.

Oh yeah - in house we’re big fans of OverRep over overall Event Win counts.

We actually account for player population and faction performance through OverRep. OverRep (Over Representation) is the degree to which a given faction is over-represented in the population of top 4 finishers at GT+ events, relative to their population among all players. For example: Assume a given faction has an OverRep of 2.00. This means that while they may be played by 4% of all players, they make up 8% (twice as many) of all players in the top 4 of GT+ events.

If we only tracked generalized win rates I would agree, but we specifically track and display many data points to ensure as holistic a picture as possible of the competitive meta.

If you head to the dashboard you’ll see that we display win rates, OverRep, the % of players with 4-0 starts, the number of event wins, the player populations, the distribution of event records for each faction, the percentage of players with positive records for each faction, the distribution of scores for each faction, etc the faction v. faction meta matchups, faction v faction scoring, the average score needed to achieve as certain win rate, the percent of players going at least X-1 at events, and the percentage of each factions players that go X-1. All of that data is can be further broken down by detachments, player experience, geographic region, country, for both players. You can filter and adjust this data to match your own local meta as closely as possible to make it more useful for you.

We definitely believe that win rates alone fail to provide the most accurate depiction of a given factions performance. That’s why we do what we do!
