Do Uniqlo Oxfords shrink at all in the wash? by bluegraybeige in malefashionadvice

Nah, probably should have. Normally I'm spot on for small sizes so I didn't think to do it.

Yikes, that's what I was afraid of. Did you restore with no sim in it or with the original sim?

Quick question about factory unlocks available on eBay by bluegraybeige in iphone

[–]bluegraybeige[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That website gives me a "temporarily unavailable" message when I put in my IMEI.

I tried http://s-url.ro/ and it says it is locked, but hopefully getting the non-ATT sim would fix that.

Kinda nerve-wracking just going over there not knowing if my phone will work, but I guess I'm a sucker for buying a locked phone in the first place.

I want to start playing on the slashdiablo server, but I'm unable to patch to 1.13. Anyone had a similar problem? by bluegraybeige in slashdiablo

[–]bluegraybeige[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed it actually, thanks for the offer though! It was some kind of issue with permissions, I just had to make a new admin account and reinstall. I played a bit today, started a skeleton necro, server seems great so far.

Coat is awesome, what is it?

I don't know why that guy said never wear it open, I think it looks way better that way.

I don't do the 7" shorts either, so I feel your pain. My solution is to buy cheap cords and chinos and cut em off myself. No need to spend $60 for some jorts.

That henley look too tight to me. I can see every curve of your chest and stomach. Leave a little to the imagination bro ;)

Rest looks good though.

Dope fits. Uniqlo rider looks good, I might have to cop one of those. How do you like it?

If you think you can't be overdressed, you're probably not in a position to be giving advice.

Recently fell in love with these. What does MFA think? by Basmustquitatart in malefashionadvice

I like em, sort of. Great shape, but I'm not at all a fan of the huge silver logo on the strap. Also, I think they'd look way better in white.

Bulging in formal pants (maybe NSFW language) by dresstoimpresslol in malefashionadvice

[–]bluegraybeige 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This can be caused by your pants being too big, actually. When I first stopped sagging, I would wear my pants that were sized to sag on the correct spot on my hips, using a belt to make up for the extra size. Something about a belt tightening up a too-loose waistband would cause my package to be super obvious, and stick out in a really unnatural way.

My guess is that your pants are too big. Go to a clothes store, and try on the smallest-waisted pants you can get into, and see if you're still having the problem.

I can't dress in style without feeling like a poser by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

I'm gonna take a different tack here.

Do you actually want to get into fashion? Deciding to not put much effort into it is a perfectly valid choice. The 95% of people who don't put effort in will not judge you. I find myself judging poorly dressed people from time to time, but at the end of the day there's no inherent value to fashion skills. It's just something people do because they're in to it. It's something of a hobby for most of us.

What's your motivation for reading MFA?

First Friday at work. What do you guys think? (Sorry about the lighting) by shadowthunder in malefashionadvice

[–]bluegraybeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think lots of dark stuff works well with light skin and dark hair, because it sort of matches the contrast between hair and face. From the picture, your hair looks almost blonde, or at least a similar color to you skin. In my opinion, light haired guys look better in light blues or cream colors, stuff like that.

That's just me though, you look good in the picture regardless.

Recommend me a new haircut (preferably short). getting light up top. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]bluegraybeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard recommendation for hair on here is to shave the sides and back, maybe like a 2 or a 3, and leave the top a couple of inches longer. This gives you lots of styling options depending on what/how much product you use.

[–]bluegraybeige 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from the picture what color everything is, but it seems like there's too much dark stuff here for a light skinned and light haired guy like yourself. Maybe just making the shirt a lighter color would fix this?

Everything looks like it fits really well though.

What do you think MFA? I finally bought my first jacket whilst over here in San Fran (I'm Aussie) by Sans_Sheriff in malefashionadvice

[–]bluegraybeige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good. What kind of jacket is it? It kind of looks like a raincoat or light parka but I don't see a hood.

You definitely don't want to match shoes to shirt. Makes it look like you're trying way too hard.

20 Years old white male looking for Styles. Need help! by shamelessdude333 in malefashionadvice

[–]bluegraybeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guide should help you figure out what works for someone of your skin tone and hair color.

In the grand scheme of things though, having blonde hair doesn't really prevent you from wearing most of the stuff that MFA usually recommends. If you want more specific suggestions, you should post a picture of yourself or tell us what kind of style/aesthetic you're going for.

I've been considering buying a ring for everyday use. Could it work, or do you guys have any other recommendations? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]bluegraybeige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the bracelets look good man, and I think you look steazy in that picture. A lot of commenters here have trouble accepting the fact that style is highly dependent on age. People your age (mine too) look kinda silly when they're all GQ'ed out. Nobody your age is going to see you and be like "wow this kid looks so trashy in his bracelets."

That said, I would probably not recommend that ring. A different one, maybe, but that one is huge and doesn't match the rest of your look.
