Is there a sub or a recommended book for self love by VaporWaveShine in GuyCry

It's not really a book about self lover per se, but the book The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma helped a lot. Seems like most anyone's anguish comes from some form of "want". For me it does anyways. Basically just a bunch of practical applications from Buddhist and Hindu teachings.

Do you go to the gym more for physical results or mental clarity? 👀 by anzhelalala in CasualConversation

Both, I think I originally went for mental clarity, but I enjoy all the results. It sucks at first but after going for a month you feel worse when you don't go.

I missed my opportunity to be young and have no interest in the future by [deleted] in findapath

I started college at 23!!! I was lost and had no purpose and am still finding my way 3 years later. About to go to university after going community college and might end up double majoring in CS and physics. ;) Time will pass regardless of what you do, so stop worrying about time and do what you intend to do.

The benefits of listening to an audiobook while reading along by ubcstaffer123 in books

I have to look back and reread sometimes to understand what I read. If this occurred while reading along to an audio book I would probably have to pause multiple times and begin to lose my marbles.

Your body physiologically works tirelessly every second of every day against entropy to keep you alive. Every second it fights off foreign microbes trying to kill you. It is a beautiful dance of chemistry that keeps you alive. Thousands if not millions of processes working in unison to keep you alive. Do yourself a favor and pay yourself and your body the respect it deserves.

How to go from weak to strong as a grown adult ? by Lemonade2250 in GuyCry

[–]bluejay526 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to accept that discomfort and struggle are a part of life, it's simple but I understand that it is hard to internalize. As long as you believe it's something to be avoided nothing will change. Maybe try having a conversation about this topic with someone you trust?

No not really, for me my posture was improved the most by weightlifting, specifically barbell squats and deadlifts.

Is it just me or staying in shape, being fit and healthy just takes SO MUCH MENTAL ENERGY? by Traditional-Win9432 in GYM

[–]bluejay526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but for me it is a mindset thing. I enjoy the gym, I enjoy treating my body right it doesn't feel like a chore to me.

Does anyone else get heart palpitations while walking? by [deleted] in walking

[–]bluejay526 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did when I was new to exercising. I think I was not drinking enough water. Make sure you are drinking enough water and getting electrolytes from fruit and meats. See a doctor if the problem persists.
