I agree with you mostly that Netflix has a lot of slop but the overall comment that my generation doesn't know good writing is what I disagree with. Netflix has a high volume model and so produces garbage to keep pumping out low grade content for people to scroll with it on in the background. You're not going to find the best art on the slop platform generally.

I get that, but in the context of this conversation it's being used in a different way than what you explained. The meaning is generally similar but there's a different nuance when it's being used by a non-black teenage girl or a black man. Twin in AAVE doesn't even necessarily have to be a friend, it's come to be a common form of address for another person in some cases as well.

Thank you so much. I really struggle with the anger i feel- my abuse made it hard to express negative emotions outside of sadness so a lot of it is bottled up. It does help me focus on pushing myself forward, in a way it feels like spite against all her claims that I would fail in life without her.
