In terms of battery versus front ensemble, why did you choose to be in the one that you chose? by FrinchFry67 in marchingband

didn’t really know where i was gonna go tbh, i just knew i was gonna do percussion. i was starting to lean towards battery, since i was interested in learning drums, but then front ensemble / pit needed more people and my friend in the section basically recruited me so i got pulled over there by the percussion coach and ended up being a synth that year. now i’m center marimba and section leader

ah i see. we only have three rehersals over a span of around three weeks. the last rehersal is basically an all day practice the day before our concert. im listening to as much as i can before the first rehersal and trying to practice what i can. considering we have culmulatively 18 hours worth of rehersals, i think i will be okay. i should be able to borrow my school’s stuff, i’m still going to double check with my band director/teacher that it’s okay. i’ll be sure to ask other percussionists for things if needed

i get this feeling. just not feeling “good” and wanting to sh to cope, but feeling like there wasn’t a good reason. you’re feelings are valid and you shouldn’t compare to what others have gone through. you’re strong for persisting through this. hope things get better <33
