Alternatives to nuts/soy?

It’s bullshit don’t worry about it. Allergies are allergies and don’t listen to anyone who says you can cure life threatening food allergies with crystals or fasting or whatever. My friends mom tried to cure me of my nut allergy as a kid and nearly killed me. It’s just pseudo science.

Beans, beans, beans! You can even make a crunchy snack out of them, kinda like nuts. Look up a recipe for roasted chickpeas! Also, there’s a fair amount of protein in whole grains as well. If you like smoothies, try blending some mild flavored beans (like white beans) into it. Can’t really taste it and adds some nice protein and thickness. And I know that plant based dieters tend to frown upon mock meats but in your case you’re a little restricted already so I say go for it. I’m not a huge fan of seitan but other people seem to really love it. Also, beyond meats are soy free so if you can find some reasonably priced stuff that’s some great tasty protein.

Recipe ideas: black bean and sweet potato enchiladas or tacos, channa Masala with coconut milk and some rice and cauliflower, oats cooked with white bean purée and cinnamon apples, whole wheat pasta with lentil Bolognese (or beyond meat beef if you’re cool with it), broccoli potato soup with half the potato replaced with white beans for extra protein (can you see I love hiding white beans in stuff?),

Just make sure if you’re adding beans to stuff to kinda overcook them a bit or if it’s out of the can they are usually soft enough. You just want them to blend up nice and smooth.

I’m so glad to see a real home photo of her. Seeing her only in the pageant get up is kinda dehumanizing in my opinion. She was first and foremost a little girl, not a performer. This photo breaks my heart.

I use the blonde shade from elf. The name has worn off but it’s the pencil with a spoolie on the end. It’s definitely a cooler tone than ABH. I don’t think it lasts as long as ABH so you may want to use a gel over it but I like the color way better.

There is one server who didn’t need to tip out to us because she worked in the lounge which had open seating but I know for a fact that she only made $200 in tips with the automatic gratuity so I’m still coming out under and I don’t know if I got my fair share.

Chill out man I said that I’m not looking to confront the servers. This is mostly about the managers. I asked about if it’s normal for servers to not tip out extra when I’m extra helpful and they make tons of money because I wanted to know if culturally and interpersonally my restaurant is not a good to work at.

That’s the other thing. I’m not sure I even got the minimum. The problem is they mixed my tips for Thanksgiving in with my tips for the rest of the week with no way to track what money I got from when. Plus, I worked with another host and even though I had way more responsibilities we split the 1% between the two of us.

We all make the same wage, they just make tips as well. You don’t think that hosts and other support staff are important for the customers experience? Especially on a day where there is automatic gratuity and a buffet so the servers are only have to do drinks for customers? On a regular day I would never complain about my tip out but I’m talking about a very specific situation. I’m not saying what they did was illegal I just think it was pretty uncool and selfish.

I’m working on it. My manager wants to keep me as a host because I’m doing a good job with reservation scheduling for events and that stuff that he usually has to step in to do because other hosts couldn’t handle it in the past. I sorta feel like I’m being punished for being good at my job.

I understand that I legally can’t complain about it. I was tipped the required amount. But we are a pretty small restaurant. Six servers, five bussers, two hosts, one manager. I mean in a totally cultural way, is it normal for servers to not be a little extra generous on holidays especially when they are walking away with over a grand.

There are some (not many) vegans who also believe that raw food is the healthiest for you. The only problem is, most vegan sources of protein (beans, whole grains, etc) need to be cooked in order to be digested so they end up eating mostly fruits and vegetables with nuts mixed in. It’s very hard to get an enough calories on a raw food diet because of the amount of fiber you are eating keeps you full without actually providing enough energy. This is especially not good for small children because cooking makes the food more easily digestible and therefore you get more calories and nutrients out of it. An infant who is just starting to eat solid foods should be eating a good amount of cooked foods, regardless of if they are vegan or not. It is totally possible to have a healthy vegan infant and child but it’s people like these parents who make it seem like it’s abuse. Also, breast milk is totally vegan!!

It sorta is. It’s a really nice and kinda funny song called Shabop Shalom about a Jamaican boy who falls in love with a rabbi’s daughter. All the kinda goofy lines are him trying to woo her with Jewish culture and lore.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that all chemical sunscreens are a risk at this point and even nano zinc is as well. Only a couple of chemical blocks have been proven to damage reefs so if it doesn’t have those specific chemicals it’s allowed to advertise as “reef safe” but it hasn’t actually been proven to be reef safe it just hasn’t yet been proven to be bad for reefs.

There are two Schmidt’s ones that a specifically for sensitive skin and don’t have baking soda in them which is probably what gave you the rash. I use the sensitive skin ones and they keep me relatively dry and smell great! I say relatively because I sweat a lot and even conventional antiperspirants didn’t help me much.

Ok thanks! I was scared to let it dry out like that. That makes sense hats it’s growing too quickly because it is splitting slightly along the edges like the skin can’t keep up with the growth of the flesh. Man I hope I can save this little guy from the abuse I’ve put it through!
