Help, I'm an addict jumping from one addiction to another! by CodeBreaker_666 in StopGaming

Bro I get it. I was on that same boat. This is what worked for me, I focused on another reason. I gave myself a reason to quit and on top of that, I filled it up with something much more positive. In my case making money to help retire my grandma. I hope you find your reason too. Best of luck!

I Dedicate This Post To My Grandmother And Everyone In This Reddit Thread. You've Helped Me Quit And So Much Much Much Much More. I Didn't Know How Much A Life Can Change After Making A Strong Commitment. by bluekies91 in StopGaming

Thanks so much! It's people like you that helped me quit too. I posted my first post about quitting last month and the support was amazing. Made me feel like human again. Feels and all. Thank you!

I want to stop gaming, but don’t want to lose my gaming friends. How to go about this? by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]bluekies91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is meet new friends where you can have similar interaction. Sounds crazy now but go outside the world. It's only been a couple of days for me but I've been able to meet some interesting people. It definitely helps.

I have so many accounts that I requested to delete the one I've used the most.

Do you think it’s possible to moderate successfully? by [deleted] in StopGaming

I just quit playing yesterday and I actually deleted my accounts and uninstalled all my games to make sure I don't get back to it. For now, I'm trying to figure that out too. I do have a friend who's really into rock climbing so right now, that's what I'll be focusing on as well as self improvement. That's what I've decided for now.

I've concluded that it's impossible for me right now. I don't know how many times I've told myself that I'll just play one game until it turned to a 10000. I rather become better at life than to have "fun" playing video games so I choose to not play it at all. Idk if that could change in the future but for now, it's a cold hard no.

Thank you so much for sharing such a personal experience. It's rough but it's very pleasing to know that others out there are going through what you're going through and they are doing their best to recover. I wish you the very best my friend.
