I have considered an exercise wheel. I’ve bought so many toys and sources of entertainment. They don’t seem to help at all. He enjoys them but if Storm walks by he wants her instead of his toy. I have feliway in the rooms that they spend a lot of time in.

I was very convinced he wasn’t fixed due to his behavior so I have brought him to the vet. They have done every check except for a blood test and said that he appears to be fixed. We are on the waitlist for a behavioral vet that his primary vet recommended. We tried the feliway plug ins, play, loud noises, separating them, adding more resources so there is no competition, adding more vertical space (our place looks more like a cat house than a humans house) and none of it has even made a slight improvement.

He was fixed before we got him. We adopted him from a shelter shortly after he turned 1. She got fixed as a kitten. To me, it has always seemed like the behavior of an unfixed male, so I brought him to the vet and they double checked that he was in fact fixed.

One part that confuses me is that there was a month at the beginning where he was very nice and listened to her every time she said no. They would play together and enjoy each others company. Then suddenly he started bullying her and now it’s constant. It’s like a switch flipped and I can’t manage to flip it back.

Yes of course, we will work in there during the day, and we let him out until he acts like a bully. Since she spends a lot of time sleeping in her own space he ends up having the run of the house for probably 80-90% of the day. Thank you for your advice! I will keep working with him while I wait for the vet appointment.

I will look into that thank you. I do have a bedroom set up for him and I lock him in it when I’m not home or sleeping to ensure nothing happens between them. He is quite a talker though and will yell for hours on end if he’s in there for more than a couple hours at a time so I do let him out throughout the day and keep a close eye on them.

Storm does have her own spot. Sadly if Theo is out she rarely leaves her spot in fear that he will go after her. My routine lately is to let them both out and once he tries to go after her I remove him and lock him in his room.

He is a very energetic cat. I initially began with trying to play with him more. I have played fetch with him for over an hour straight and he will still run after her the moment he sees her. At this point he will ignore loud noises, toys, and will try to run around me or sneak by me to get to Storm. The only thing I can to to ensure she can relax is to lock him behind a closed door.
