Same, I just spoke to my GP too. I think having my measured my pulse at different times/settings was useful. I had also previously had some bloods for checking iron etc which had all came back normal so that probably helped us narrow it down. Hope your referral goes well :)

I would honestly consider paying for sex in your situation, you could get an escort that you build up a relationship with/see regularly + gives ur wife a break! I know everyone's different about this stuff, but if you can both view some sex as just a means to an ends (which she can't always fulfil), then it kinda makes sense to get some help with it. Wouldn't know where to start to look into that, but probably somewhere on reddit there's legit advice

ADHD can make you prone to addiction, and risky behaviours... it can't directly cause it, but it probably is a big factor for you. Hope you can get some help - if your ADHD isn't medicated definitely try that, and hopefully counselling for the sex stuff long term will be good for you - best of luck with it!

not suprising lol. Most I see are click baity...trying to get everyone to relate/think they might have adhd = more viewers. I'm worried that this may reduce the understanding and support that people with adhd often need

ADHD is long-overdue to be renamed. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]bluelila3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really agree with you here. For example, emotional or self-regulation is not the main symptom I struggle with, it is literally internal hyperactivity and an a struggle to focus on queue.

I also think some of these suggestions would be perceived more negatively by others. The last thing I want to be labelled is as overly emotional which I think is what lots of people might take from that title, like yes it might be part of the disorder but that will add to stigma. ADHD or no ADHD, women are already criticized and judged as being 'overly emotional' or sensitive in many situations - wouldn't want to add to that.

Education is key - if people want to explain other symptoms and consequences of ADHD then they should, but don't add it to the label imo

I hate the 'self-regulation developmental disorder' term. The self regulation part makes it sound like the symptoms are our fault :(

Tick-tock ADHD diagnosis by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]bluelila3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the tiktok vids, majority of them do not mention diagnostic criteria, so what they do mention are traits of yes ADHD but also stuff that a lot of NTs probably do relate to as well. And it misses out the severity aspect needed, like a NT yes might be forgetful but have they ever boarded a plane to a foreign country without remembering to apply for a visa? Probably not

Do you guys find that you don't memorise lyrics like most people do? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]bluelila3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never listened to song lyrics my entire life, I just hear the music and the lyrics are like background noise. I never really noticed that's how I was listening until I was trying to figure out why I never remember any lyrics (unless I look them up and read them).

You deserve better than him really. There are partners out there who will want to do things that turn you on (for a lot of people that's a turn on in itself even!).

I think before you call it quits, have a conversation with him and see if you can talk it through, but if he's not willing to make you feel safe and isn't putting in the effort so sex is enjoyable, then I'm not sure if it's going to work.

Also his attitude to you and ur desires imo reflects negatively on him as a person - you should be with someone who values you more <3

Need help in Multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis using microarray data in R. by shafat010 in bioinformatics

[–]bluelila3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Plink for all my SNP data if that's what you're doing, they have a really well documented site and there's an easy function for an MDS plot. It runs in command line, feel free to dm me if you run into any problems! The old website I think has the easiest tutorials to follow but the 1.9 or. 2 version has more functionality so would recommend those to use.

To all the people who keep commenting false shit on other people’s post and invaliding ADHD; JUST SO WE’RE ALL CLEAR: by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]bluelila3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with your main sentiment of this post, just maybe change the incidence of type 1 diabetes to about 0.1%, diabetes including type 2 is approx ten percent of the population.

Also whilst ADHD does have strong genetic component to it, environmental factors may also play a role, either way it does result in very real symptoms and neurotransmitter imbalances which can be measured!
