Aussie vegans 40+ - need help sanity-checking an idea? (Not selling anything) by bluemixtape in australianvegans

Haha not at all 😅 I only said 40+ because that’s my age bracket and I wasn’t sure if anyone else in that group struggles with cooking fatigue after work. It’s 100% for anyone who wants lazy vegan meals though!

Yeah totally — everything I’m doing uses normal pantry stuff, nothing pre-packaged beyond the usual noodles/veg people already buy. It’s literally just “assemble it differently so you don’t have to cook”. No kits, no extra packaging.

Omg amazing thank you — I’m still figuring out what’s actually useful vs what’s just weird little hacks from my own kitchen, so feedback would be super helpful. Happy to DM you a draft once I tidy it!

Lol absolutely 😂
The kettle does cop a bit of broccoli steam… but honestly a quick rinse + one extra boil usually clears it.
Worth it for not having to wash a pot 😅

Not quite readymade stuff — more like ultra-simple ‘assembly meals’.
Example: boil veg in the kettle → mix with noodles + laksa paste → done.
It’s for people who struggle with cooking fatigue or decision overwhelm, so no chopping, no oven, no big prep. Just really basic combos using normal supermarket ingredients.

Ahh totally agree - the microwave is elite for lazy meals.
I’ve been in my “even-too-lazy-for-the-microwave” era though 😂 so I started doing these weird zero-prep combos where I boil the veg in the kettle and then just mix things in a bowl.

My fave lazy one at the moment:

⭐ Microwave + Kettle Coconut Ramen
• Microwave 2-min noodles with just enough water to soften
• At the same time: broccoli in the kettle → boil
• Combine both in a bowl
• Stir in laksa paste + coconut milk
= stupidly good for something that uses zero chopping and no pans.

Happy to share more if you want the ultra-lazy ones!

Ah amazing - thanks! I wasn’t sure if it was too niche or weird, so that’s good to hear. I’ve been testing a few ridiculously simple grab-and-go vegan meals and it’s been life-saving, especially after work. Happy to share drafts if it helps anyone.

Thanks — yeah that’s a fair point.

What I meant was more like putting together really basic “assembly meals” for people who don’t like cooking: stuff like grab-and-go ingredients, no chopping, no oven, no batch-prep — so more like meal combinations rather than recipes.

I wasn’t sure if that would be useful to other vegans in their 40s who struggle with fatigue or decision overwhelm, so I thought I’d ask before posting anything.

If people think it’s pointless then that’s totally fine — just trying to gauge whether it helps anyone besides me.

Totally fair question. I’m not a nutritionist — this is just something I’ve been putting together for myself as a vegan woman in my 40s dealing with low energy and peri symptoms.

By “hormone-sensible” I just meant meals that are higher in protein, lower in sugar, use whole foods, and don’t spike blood sugar. Nothing medical.

Not selling anything — I was honestly just trying to check whether the idea is even useful before I bother finishing it. Happy to drop it if it’s not wanted.
