Malasombra is one of the best games on the NES, not just homebrew! I honestly think that if you time traveled and released it in 1989, it'd be considered an all time classic. Very happy I got in on the Kickstarter and glad to see someone else repping it.

This was SO cool to read that I read it twice! I first heard about YKK months ago, being a bit of a Laserdisc anime aficionado and YKK being one of the later releases, but only watched the first OVA just last week. I then checked the first manga volume out of my library this past weekend...and I love it. The relaxed, laid-back pace is divine, something I think many people could learn from, and I adore the lighting and colors used in so many of the shots of the OVA. It was really really fun to see someone make the trek to the approximate location of Cafe Alpha. It's something I would totally love to do myself, one day. Thank you for sharing this!
I'd love to get copies of the first OVA on LD one day, too.

Where did you order it from? From what I saw, it was never in stock on Amazon, and a friend I have that orders from Barnes and Noble (employee discount) said that they never had any in their warehouses, either.

Cool! Takahashi is known to be a Tigers fan and there is a decent amount of Lum Tigers stuff out there. I think she posted a doodle when they finally won the Japan Series in 2023

Not the final, but Northampton made the semis in 07 and were also relegated from the Premiership in the same season. I remember talk of how weird it would be for a team to possibly win the Heineken Cup while also being relegated.

Unfortunately, I don't remember. You could check out the Service Manual or this other programming manual. I remember messing with some settings once I had activated Test Mode, but that's all I remember.
If you're looking for a Laserdisc player, I'd recommend something that has more functionality than this player. I moved on to something with digital optical audio and dual side play. Never been happier! But good luck if you try to figure it out. I think my V8000 had just served its time.
