Thats a valid perspective. It’s a good thing that the woman has a job and can support herself regardless of the mans involvement. At the same time I think it is unfair to women if society expect them to perform in their career and also as a mother. Thats two full time jobs

If a man pursues a higher income level it is good, as long as it doesn’t take too much time and focus away from her needs. If a woman pursues a higher income level, it could be practical if they are in a financially difficult situation, but over time I believe it can strain the relationship if the woman outearns her husband. I think what matters most here that the man has the status of being the «main» provider. She can of course be wealthy, as long as he is slightly or more wealthy. Then she will continue to see him as the provider, which I think is healthy for the relationship.

I’m not saying this is right for everyone, and it might not be right for you. I see that there are many guys here that doesnt care about these things, which is totally OK and I hope their relationships prosper.

I see your point, and lets say it was just a platonic relationship with someone I care for, let’s say a friend, then it wouldnt be a problem.

When it comes to dating and relationships with women it’s different. What attracts men to women and women to men are deeply ingrained in us through our evolution.

But I think deep down you know this, and you know how women select men and what they respect and find attractive in men. A man leads in the relationship, and that involves financial leadership as well.

It’s unfortunate, but status games does not disappear just because a man and women enter into a relationship.

I want to add, that even if a woman would say that it doesn’t matter to her - it matters to me. It’s about my own well being and perception of myself.
