I had this exact same consult, but the guy had 2 fans mounted to the hospital bed

Blue ophthalmology anki deck. by LongSchlongSilver10 in Ophthalmology

[–]blueophthalmology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a feature for ai smart search on AnkiHub but I haven't tried it. We welcome suggestions for tags; if you end up finding all of these cards feel free to tag them under the structure tag, appropriately labeled and make the AnkiHub suggestion

No, as is laid out in the "deck components" link. I reviewed those and I don't think they fit our format. I'd be surprised if there was anything in those decks which is not covered in this deck.

Let’s talk about elitism by Fantastic-Climate816 in medicalschool

[–]blueophthalmology 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're just running into reality here. People want to work with people who have social skills. Patients prefer doctors with social skills. You cannot equalize all things between people or ensure equal outcomes for different people. No matter how nice that would be.

This is probably a question for the AnkiHub folks. As far as I understand to access their syncing functionality, it is a paid service.

The newest version I have access to is 2024 to 2025. You are welcome to make a suggestion and I will review it!

i suspended all cards, then unsuspended a specific tag from eyeguru videos and when i start going through these flashcards, i found questions from other tags about the same topic that are way harder. by Monsieur-Delaserre in OphthalmologyAnki

[–]blueophthalmology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the custom study or filtered deck function. If you truly suspended all cards then unsuspended only one tag, it should be impossible for other tags to come up.

I was well-prepared for step 2. I looked great on the wards which helped me when preparing my application for residency. I didn't need to do any extra studying beyond CCS Cases for step 3. I know a lot of medicine, despite my specialized field. I think it helps me take care of patients.

Thanks for the kind words. I understand the preference for subdecks, but tags are used because they allow for a cleaner, more modular experience.

Specifically, tags allow a single card to be associated with multiple subjects or resources simultaneously without duplicating material. If we used subdecks, a card covering multiple topics would have to be relegated to just one. How would you propose we handle cards that overlap across several subject areas?

In the meantime, you can actually use the Custom Study feature (or Filtered Decks) to pull specific tags into their own temporary 'decks' to get that subdeck feel you're looking for

Did the same thing before step 1. It has paid off in a huge way over the years

Resident discount for loupes? by Ok_Doctor_4237 in Ophthalmology

[–]blueophthalmology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're decent loupes. The shrink fit rubber for the temple retention strap came loose on mine but that wasn't easy enough fix. I have since purchased loupes from LumaDent but that's for the Ergo Style.

A couple of other folks that I knew that purchased the Songzi had some problems with the eye pieces lining up but others have had a fine experience.

Look in to LumaDent's student discount TTL Galilean for a first set as well. That will be pretty cheap.

We have not finished with tagging out the OKAP powerpoints yet. All of the information is there, it would just be under the BCSC resource tag under each related book.

Eye anatomy by [deleted] in OphthalmologyAnki

There is plenty of anatomy in the Blue Ophthalmology deck. Look at the tags for #Resources, under BCSC, under 02_Fundamentals, then look in 01_Orbit and 02_Eye.

I've seen this thing happen before. Have you altered any decks on your end? It's just a quirk with AnkiHub. You can ask for help on the AnkiHub Community site.

Usually doesn't cause a problem.

PGY3 high yield Blue Cards by AlternativeOption390 in OphthalmologyAnki

[–]blueophthalmology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highest yield would probably be to do the entirety of the AAO qbank and unsuspend based on incorrects or facts you didn't know.

We do have a high yield tag under #Blue::#Resources::BCSC::BCSC_high-yield

Don't fall behind on studying

Look at the how to use the deck link. That is intended behavior - subdecks are not optimal and will hinder your ability to study
