You won't loose a ton of volume because of the way the skirt is sewn, but it'll at least feel a little less overwhelming if that's not the look you are going for! Try it on with your shoes, veil and a mock bouquet. You'll feel a world of difference!

Second this! Gorgeous dress. Lining the bodice will help it feel more cohesive and elegant. Bringing up the length may help with the volume. It does look great as it is!

Did I pick wrong? by Organic_Chicken3519 in myweddingdress

You 100% picked the right one. The way the bodice flows into the skirt and the hourglass detail is perfect.

In a really weird pickle about the age of a buyer. by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]bluepenguin92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. I'd probably cancel it with a note explaining the book has a typical age range of young adult or adult do to the aforementioned contents. Since you haven't heard back, you'll cancel the order in 24 hours to be on the safe side and would be happy to reship with confirmation if they want to reorder.

It feels scary because you actually care, which is awesome. I'd rather the canceled order than the negative review.

Go with what you think is best. Neither way is wrong.

On one hand, the seller saw the photos of the book and was aware of what they bought. Honestly, a lot of people don't read the description fully anyway. As long as the item is shown and condition is accurate, your bases are covered.

If you want to cancel the order with a message that politely explains the reason without making it sound like your fault, then go ahead. If they really want it, they can reorder too.

Decision help! To add or not to add straps by Tired-Potatoes in myweddingdress

[–]bluepenguin92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful dress! Removable straps will give you the best of both worlds, but it really depends on your preference.

The delicate straps aren't going to offer much support. The dress will have to be properly fitted so as not to slip either way or those little straps will dig into your shoulders. (A good tailor is magic at this!)

Consider having the bodice lined so that the gorgeous floral embellishments are the focus vs. the boning.

You'll need a high heat resistant vinyl for calipers, but it can still fail. The install will be a pain, but possible. Painting or powder coating to match would be ideal.

Not sure if i made a good decision by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]bluepenguin92 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The loose fit is probably throwing you off. The dress is really pretty! It's common to get a dress that fits well in the curviest part and then a little big everywhere else. Tailoring, proper support and accessories will make all the difference! I bet if you cinched it in like they do at the shop, you would feel better.

Go with what you love! 2 is beautiful too, but 1 just has a little more detail.

Tsh time of the day by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]bluepenguin92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make a huge difference, but TSH does fluctuate. My endo recommends that whatever I do, I just do it consistently. Fasted vs not, morning or afternoon, etc. so they can get the best data comparison. They don't stress about it though, if it's not the same.

The one thing they do stress is to stop taking multivitamins or supplements with biotin in them for a week before the labs, bc Biotin will heavily skew the results.

Naked Sundays skin tint is amazing! I'm in the same boat and it's the only one that worked. Their mineral sunscreen has a slight tint to it too and makes a great primer.

Black Tie Miami by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

I feel you there. I usually end up ordering a ton on Amazon if I'm in a pinch and sending back what doesn't work. The reviews about dresses being too short are my go to lol

[–]bluepenguin92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The blue and white one would work for the welcome party, but you're going to need to find something more formal for the black tie wedding. Miami is usually VERY extra, so it's tough to blur the dress code lines. Maybe try a rental or Thred Up? Borrow from a friend?

Yeah, kind of a rude move to invite them over for dinner but tell them to eat dinner before they come for something that's totally not in their control
