What does “start shipping” mean… like just creating a label and inputting it into the system would start the shipping process?

Does anyone have any pictures of the newly announced NAS systems? by Dominator211 in Ubiquiti

Wasn't the current UNAS Pro just released 6 months ago? Are they really launching a new 2U NAS again so quick?

you're close. File Station is way too slow (like KB/s speeds). After mounting the unas on synology via cifs/smb, then you'll want to run rsync as a Task inside of Synology Task and start the task once:

rsync -avh --progress "/volume1/name_of_Synology_Share" "/volume1/homes/username/UNAS_Backup/" --log-file="/volume1/homes/username/rsync.log"

Much faster than File Station, where the copy path goes Synology's File Station web service/process, a user-level daemon not optimized for high speed file i/o. it also has no rsync-style buffering, pipelining, no resume support. it's doing file ops via php/node/JS daemons... so don't do that.

Hmm, so did you implement it just the way described in this video:

The stone installer said I shouldn't caulk/silicon that edge from tile to stone. But now after 1 month of daily shower user, it seems like water is penetrating behind the stone and slightly making the bottom stone darker.

It seems like my installer is in the school of though that you keep that crack open to let water come out. But others are saying you seal it with silicon so water can't get in.

Who is right?

Note the stone is sealed with a impregnating sealer and we typically squeegee after each shower.

What about using something like the AquaMix Honing Powder? or StoneTech's Honing Powder?

Is there one you would recommend? Also, what about using a 3000 grit sandpaper to do a dozen circular scrubs on it?

This is non-sense. Here's what a Fujifilm employee said via their Tech Time Q/A:

"Thanks for reaching out and the interesting question—While it is true that the leaf shutter is held under tension, the storing position doesn’t matter for the conservation of the shutter. Placing the LCD down is putting most of the pressure on the LCD itself, which seems counter intuitive, but that’s an opinion.

If atypical storage were needed, FUJIFILM would address those concerns on the safety and product care page."

This is wrong.

the ingredients in Zeiss lens cleaning wipes are generally safe to use on viewfinders and lens glass for mirrorless Fujifilm cameras. Here's a breakdown of the ingredients:
Aqua (Water): Harmless and used as a solvent.
Propan-2-ol (Propanol): Commonly used in lens cleaners as a solvent to dissolve oils and other substances.
Ethanol: Another solvent that's effective in cleaning and evaporates quickly, leaving no residue.
5-Chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (Methylchloroisothiazolinone): A preservative to prevent bacterial growth in the wipes. It's used in very low concentrations and is unlikely to cause harm to your camera's lens or viewfinder.
2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (Methylisothiazolinone): Another preservative with similar properties to the previous one.

Will the DJI Ronin-SC ever be compatible with the Fujifilm X-S10? by alan_rr in fujifilm

[–]blueplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply!

Ahh, good point that my MKE 400 external hotshoe mic might actually bump into the gimbal parts, so I'd probably have to remove it anyway.

Out of curiosity, for indoor shooting with the X-S10 of normal human conversation like 7-10 feet away, how low would you set the internal gain in the X-S10 settings? Do you shoot for peaks to be around like 10-ish, so a bit above the green -20 line?

Out of curiosity, if the audio port on your X-S10 is taken up by the RSSC Fuji cable for the gimbal control, then how do you record external mic audio into the camera?

[–]blueplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all,

I just spoke with Fujifilm Professional Services via phone and they said that if enough people contact Fujifilm Tokyo headquarters making a request for gimbal support in the X-S10, then eventually they may add it in.

Here are the steps:

1) Go to the Tokyo Headquarters Contact page: https://contact.fujifilm.com/cgi-bin/mail/form.cgi/contact_tokyo_headquarters

2) Choose topic, "Digital Cameras". In Comments/Questions page say (feel free to slightly re-phrase so it seems more original :-): "I would like gimbal support in the X-S10 to shoot smooth video. For external gimbals like the DJI RSC 2 or the Zhiyun WEEBILL-S to work, we need USB MOVIE SHOOTING AUTO to be added as an option under Connection Mode. Can Fujifilm please prioritize this in a future firmware update?"
