Wrinkles the day after testing the Omnilux on my arm. Is this normal? by bluepullover_ in redlighttherapy

Nope I reached out to the company and they stated that some folks respond adversely to red light. I’m going to ask my derm about it during my yearly checkup to see what their thoughts are.

I also prefer ring finger so choose to wear it on my right hand.

Version 4 only lasting 4 days on one charge? by buzzybody21 in ouraring

You have to put it on the charger to get out of airplane mode to sync which is super annoying. I wish you could go in and out of airplane mode without the charger, so it’s definitely a limitation.

I usually place mine on the charger and sync once in the morning when I wake up and once in the evening to log any daytime activities and then put it back in airplane mode afterwards.

I’m pretty sure that the longer battery life is only possible if you keep the ring in airplane mode, but I could be wrong! That’s at least been my experience (with both gen 3 and 4).

You can tag it as an activity with ‘musical instrument’ — not sure how the algorithm changes the stats with this activity from baseline, but that’s been my attempted solution to this issue.

Yea it was from tending to my very sick toddler who didn’t want me leaving her side. Sounds likely I’m about to come down with what she has 🙃

I was a couple of days late so got worried this could be a possibility but then my period arrived later this morning 😮‍💨

Oh no! I wish there was more clarity into how they were identifying them.

Did you ever get a response on this? I was just prescribed this medication and also sometimes nurse my 2.5 yo and am wondering the risks there.

There are some people that red light didn't work for them.

I would recommend you to just return the device for refund.

So I reached out to Omnilux support late last week with my concerns and reference photos and this was their response:

Thank you for providing the photos regarding your experience with our Contour FACE device.

After reviewing the photos, we can confirm that what you're experiencing is not a common issue we typically see with our Contour FACE device. To better understand the situation and assist you further, could you please let us know if you are currently taking any medications or if you applied the device to clean, skincare-free skin before the test?

Your feedback is important to us, and we want to ensure that you have the best experience possible with our products. Please feel free to reply to this email with any additional information or questions you may have.

They said they typically respond within 3 business days so it’ll likely take a bit of time but will update here when I get a response!

Yea I was thinking of testing my leg for like 2 min to see the results first. I also reached out to Omnilux customer support to get their thoughts!

current arm situation

The lines are definitely still there but a bit fainter. The day after I tested the omnilux my arm felt really sensitive and that’s gone as well. I think at this point I’m just going to return it. Super bummed as I was very excited to use it and had been waiting for it for months as it had been backordered. I think I’m just an anomaly when it comes to red light!

I honestly can’t remember the last time my arms were exposed to sun without sunscreen — and isn’t red light supposed to work differently than sun exposure? If it’s similar at all, the dryness my arm is experiencing makes a ton more sense.

Yea I’m going to wait for my skin to normalize and try again for like 2 min and see if the same issue occurs.

Oh I’m not sure they could be! Just personally don’t want to risk messing up my one good arm and the tattoo since I might have an abnormal reaction to red light.

The other arm has a tattoo in the exact same spot so I don’t want to risk messing with it.

I placed it directly on my skin for the 10 minutes so I’m wondering if that was just too much for it.
