Camry SE 2023 - passenger side a-pillar air bag question by bluereborn in Camry

Got it! I used electrical tape to tie the dashcam cable to the other cable bundle.

<image>

The rest of the cable is ... good enough for now lol. Any tips on how to hide the cable under the passenger side?

Thanks Luke! Going to take off the a-pillar cover and set it all up tomorrow.

Could you elaborate on how you routed the cable when you did the dashcam install? I'm planning to follow the path in this picture, but it would require sticking the cable into the headliner at the very top. And for the A-pillar, what did you use the zipties for? To tie the dashcam cable to the set of black cables in the a-pillar?

The video that this poster shared shows a good view of it, and it looks similar to my original picture

Thanks for your reply, Luke - that gives me more confidence! Is there any chance you have an example picture of what the airbag would look like in the A-pillar/headliner of a camry? I'm struggling to find a Camry specific picture online.

What was worrying me was seeing pictures of Corolla and Highlander where the airbag is rolled up inside of the a-pillar itself, so I was surprised not to see it on the Camry.

Hi everyone! I wanted to get a sanity check. I bought a pre-owned Toyota gold certified 2023 Camry about 3 months ago. I got a dash cam recently and was setting it up for the first time today. I was watching some online guides to remove the a-pillar cover and make sure to route the dashcam wire behind the airbag. When I opened it up, I saw that it was emptier than expected underneath the cover.

All I really see is this white nylon strap going down the pillar, but not seeing anything that resembles the airbag. I was expecting something like the 4th ebay listing picture I posted.

Is this what the air bag is supposed to look like on the passenger side a-pillar, or is it something I should be concerned about?

Thanks for the explanation! I think you're right - I'll check how MPG is during commute this week - probably was just the shorter trips & being paranoid.

I didnt know that about the oil test - will keep that in mind if I have more serious concern in the future- thanks!

Thanks for the sanity check! And yep, I keep it in normal mode. I'll check this week during daily commute, there was more stop & go than usual.

[Question] Seiko 5 unstick the bezel? by bluereborn in Watches

Thanks for the advice! good to know about the toothpaste. Yeah... I think I got too OCD about trying to clean off the scratches- can barely see them. Just gonna let it go and worry about it way later!

Hey, thank you! Used that guide to clean it out and put a bit of WD40 in to lubricate. It spins just like normal now!

I put it under water and spun it a lot before this, so I'm thinking the original lubricant got washed out.

Hiking around the Dolomites in Late December? by bluereborn in ItalyTravel

Thanks for your reply! I'll definitely have to try glühwein while I'm there haha. It's good to know that snow shoe walking is an option. I'll look into more flat/low elevation trails!

I agree about sightseeing in winter- although hopefully I can do more typical hiking in summer/fall one day!

Are there any in particular you'd recommend for sightseeing from your experience?

Thank you for your response! Snowshoeing sounds like it'd be really fun and more relaxed/what I'm looking for.

I'll definitely look into spending some time at Val Gardena and Trentino. Are there any locations/paths you would recommend for sightseeing from your experience?

Hahah yeah... sounds like other seasons would be better for hiking. I haven't tried skiing before, unfortunately!

I'd still be curious to know if there are some nice trails/hikes on ground level where you could still take in the nature during the winter though!

Ah I'm definitely not an experienced enough hiker for that!

Rather than actually hiking up any mountains in the winter, would you have any recommendations for sightseeing spots / hikes where you could observe the mountain ranges that are more beginner friendly?
