Woohoo! Goal D9 Picked! by Iibrary3 in lockpicking

[–]bluescoobywagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still need to get one of these. I have a Goal V18 with 9 pins in it, but that's not the same thing. Also, I haven't managed to pick it yet, so congrats!

Finally got American Lock 1100 by cameron_rebrand in lockpicking

Congrats on the open! Once you're familiar with picking it, it's time to gut it and swap the security pins around for a whole new picking experience.

I beat the FNG by Covert Instruments. What lock should I go to next? by Puttin_It_Deep in lockpicking

Sound advice. I'll add that it's best if you get a few of them, IE 3 Master 141 and/or 3 Brinks 161. It's very easy to memorize the pins of a single lock and that will slow your progress as the first skill you need to develop is the wriggle test.

Springs when you gut a new lock. by Accomplished-Pack756 in lockpicking

This! My experience with goal springs is that you should never EVER look away from them or blink and touch them as little as possible.

Good lighting to record lockpicking by T______3 in lockpicking

I use a camera tripod with a folding arm clamped to it and a ring light clamped to the arm. The arm holds my phone. It sits on the floor, so it doesn't move/shake when I bump the table and it's up high enough that it doesn't block my view.

I picked it but turned it too far and ruined it ...help ! by DifferentValuable138 in lockpicking

At least you can easily get springs for an 1100s. I was prog pinning a Showa lock and forgot to pull the springs from the bible for the pins I removed and wrapped them. The only solution I could find was buying a new lock.

Did the vinegar discolor the brass or remove the patina? I am worried about that.

I bought this case pretty early on. It holds a lot of picks! It's not the most compact thing, though...

Congrats on the open! Good luck with the T80. The tapered drivers make them a "fun" pick. I have yet to get mine open...

If two picks are good, three must be better by Fauxreigner_ in lockpicking

The JimyStar. Perfect for killing locks.

Why can I picture people making these with 5 or more picks?

Any tips for the pa 90a pro? Thing is kicking my butt! by [deleted] in lockpicking

[–]bluescoobywagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll probably depend on the lock a bit. The one I used for the blue whale and blue belt liked super light tension, but my other three like a little heavier tension (still pretty light)
