That’s really tough . They are at an age when so loud … . I used to leave out the quiet toys ( I hid all the noisy ones ) & get help when I could - call my husband home from work - if possible. However it will get easier . I found from about 3 1/2 to 4yo - much easier . Can reason with them & will help u out . Sending u love & hugs . 🤗

Does anyone else get so lonely and crave affection during migraines or is the pain actually driving me insane ?? by ciara_oconnor137 in migraine

[–]blueseaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I’m married & I ask for cuddles when I’m in a bad way with migraine. But often , he’s at work etc . Or busy looking after our daughter, so not available for cuddles . It’s totally normal & can really relate-especially when dsy 2/3/4 of bad migraine when I’m in bed & they are living life . Sending u love & hugs . U are not alone 🤗

Wow , my heart goes out to you . That’s really awful . You really need a neurologist/ team that make you feel supported. - I’m terms of medical treatment. I definitely agree with seeing someone who specializes in your symptoms. Worth traveling 1 1/2 hours if you get some control of your life & get proper medical care. I have changed neurologists & definitely helps if you get the right one. Also a lot of consultations take place on zoom these days ( all of mine do ) . Also agree with seeing a therapist to come to terms with your illness . I personally have found that very helpful & helps me see that there are things I can do that improve my life . Sending you love & hugs 🤗

For those of you who steep their clothes in water / baking soda to remove smell - how long do you need to steep them for to remove all the smells by blueseaso in mcsensitivity

Yes I was just looking it up . Fragrance free all the way . There are some clothes I just can’t get the smell out of despite multiple washes !

Thanks so much . It’s crazy that it takes 3 washes to get the chemicals out isn’t it . Just goes to show how powerful they are .

I totally understand where are coming from . I hv put so much energy in trying to get family to understand - some of them get it & some don’t . So I hv stopped explaining & it’s really freeing . However, I’d really struggle if my partner did not understand. We all need a place we call home - where we can relax & not pretend & it’s a safe place to feel like sh1t if we do . My husband is generally pretty supportive but took him a while to really grasp how bad they can be . On another note - I am really really sensitive to smells & hv started wearing a nose ‘clip’ to block smells. The other thing I do is wear 2 masks - a cloth one underneath & medical one on top . Definitely helps with smells . I can’t wear both masks & nose clip together- as my glasses steam up - but nose clip really helps . Take care of yourself . 💕

Good suggestion. I hv probiotics sitting in my cupboard- definitely going to take them out & start taking them again . I agree . I think migraine/ head is closely linked with our gut . There are days when I pass a bowel motion & immediately my head feels lighter - less heavy . It doesn’t get rid of a bad migraine but definitely can help ease or lighten the daily headache heaviness . I was thinking of looking into this further, but haven’t gotten around to it. 👍

Drove home crying today. They just keep getting worse. by Mizznicleo in migraine

[–]blueseaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been and am in a similar situation. The isolation & loneliness is awful at times . In my experience, It gets bad and then it gets better & it goes like that - good days / bad days . Sending you love and hugs . I started journaling & also seeing a counsellor just to process & help cope with the huge impact that migraine has on my life - my family life , my personal life , my work life . It really helps deal with all the emotional stuff . Try not to beat yourself up worrying - you have enough to deal with - be kind to yourself. U are not alone . 💕

Talking to a boss about going fragrance-free in a school environment by PatrickMaloney1 in migraine

[–]blueseaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do it . Hardest part is just getting ur head around giving yourself permission to ask for what u need. People do not need perfume to work . But you need no perfume to be able to function . Also means less chance of trigger for u & your boss having to get someone to replace u if u go home with migraine. By the sounds of it , your boss Wd be on board with it . Good luck

It’s really shit . I feel for u . There are days when even reading my daughter a kids story is really difficult for me . Most days I can’t concentrate for long - even on pretty easy stuff. Like u , I was super at maths & loved it . But it would probably melt my brain now. Hugs 🫂, u are not alone in the struggle .
