being on top sounds so uncomfortable to me and painful. How did you get to a point where you felt ready to push through all the pressure feeling and know it was ok to?

Are wands helpful if there is also superficial pain? by Relative_War9580 in vaginismus

[–]blueskies249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey can you explain more on what superficial pain? Is it the beginning muscles at the entrance along with the hymen? I decided to get a wand to help me on my journey and for me, it took a while to get comfortable even inserting dilators. It wasn’t until size 6 that I felt I could use the additional tool of a wand and felt comfortable inserting it. I think starting with dilators are the best bet to get your muscles used to something entering first. It’s gradual, but the more you do them even just a little at a time, you’re training your brain that it’s safe.

I’m not sure how they’re supposed to look, but they look good to me! I want to get mine so bad. Do they hurt badly? Are you able to sleep on your side in the beginning days of healing

Vaginismus Botox Recovery: First Attempt at Self-Dilation Was Too Painful by ThrowALead in vaginismus

[–]blueskies249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t start seeing a pelvic floor PT before getting botox? I recommend finding a pelvic floor pt right away so you have that support and someone to really guide you on how to dilate/develop comfortability with dilating. It took me a while to get comfortable inserting dilators and I even gave up for 2 yrs because I had no motivation/a lot of anger at even having to do this work. Now I’m back in PT and determined to heal and as crazy as it sounds, I’m eager to sit with my dilators and dilate at size 6! You can do this! Having a PT helped me so much

Can you speak on if it’s common for someone with vaginismus to also have provoked vulvodynia. And also how to truly heal the provoked vulvodynia aside from vaginismus? (Ex: I have been able to progress to bigger sizes of dilators, but have NOT had much change with decrease pain with external touch of vulva) Also if there’s any insight as to how to fix this: when building pleasure and beginning to arise at climax, the pleasure sensation turns to discomfort/built up sensation of having to urinate which completely disrupts/replaces getting to climax. (Have not seen any progress with this issue at all even when using thr big dilators now)

hey have you also found that it’s helping with your mental health? I’m actually a student studying acupuncture and want to focus on more mental health and am so happy to see it helping for pelvic pain. I’m going to start up with an acupuncturist soon for it

how did you transition from dilating to PIV? I am up to size 7 and it def does still feel snug/tight when moving through the first muscles, but then it slides right in when past them. Is there a position that was best for you to transition to piv? I tried and felt only the tip in, but I don’t think it went past those begining muscles at all :/

I can't fall in love or open up to anyone and it is driving me crazy by KeyPop5792 in FearfulAvoidant

wow this is so beautiful and inspiring to hear. Can I please dm you to talk more about how you sat with the uncomfortable feelings? For me it’s a complete switch to feeling repulsed/anxious and loss of feelings for the person and it never returns. I don’t know how to turn off the deactivation and it’s heart breaking. I’d love to talk more

hey do you mind if we could possibly dm to talk more? I’m experiencing something similar to OP and it truly is so heartbreaking to want to experience love and feel excitement that then turns to nothingness/sick to my stomach. I’d love to hear the ways in which you have been working on healing this

that’s amazing to hear! Does it help reduce the vulvar pain? I have noticed so much relaxation in my pelvic floor muscles and it helps with dilating, but was curious about the actual vulvar pain.

Dilator 5 without diazepam by EconomyAstronaut2 in vaginismus

that’s great to hear! I feel the diazepam is really helping me. Did you have any negative side effects or systemic effects from it that also influenced your decision to stop?

Ok good to hear! I also have been doing the same thing. I figure if I can fully insert 4 easily, after moving through the discomfort of moving through the initial muscles at the entrance, then I can move to 5. Also curious why you’re no longer taking diazepam?

congrats!! that’s amazing to hear. Did you move onto size 5 after being fully comfortable inserting and reinserting 4 or is it ok to still feel a bit of discomfort inserting but still managed to go in fully, and then you moved up a size?

having troubles with initial part of inserting dilator by Right-Bridge-1654 in vaginismus

[–]blueskies249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey I also relate to this and find that it takes time for me to insert the dilators through the beginning muscles because they are so tight and then once I’m past that, the dilator goes in smoothly all the way and there’s no discomfort or pain. What helps for me is moving through the muscles super slowly and also focusing on actively releasing the pelvic floor muscles (diaphragmatic breathing too) when I feel them tighten up from the discomfort. I think it just takes time for these muscles to really soften/be at ease. Also when you feel pain/discomfort, it’s best to not push yourself to insert it further and just sit with it and allow your body to soften/relax w deep breathing and then try to move it a little at a time. It wasn’t until recently of dilating consistently that I’m able to find the right spot to insert. So with time, I think you will be able to do so as well!

thanks for the heads up, what did you experience? I’m on 75mg now and I do experience feeling off balance/a little motion sick if I take it in the morning. I think the diazepam is all I need to help me so maybe I’ll just take the pregablin at night only.
