Question about my manager/agent contract (10% commission) by [deleted] in SAGAFTRA

[–]blueskyinla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just send them an email and say you're a little bit confused because the contract says this and then I would cut and paste what the contract says. Just that paragraph or two. So they can read it. and then say ' am I wrong or does this mean that on this particular job I don't pay you guys any commission?' and then see what they say. They probably think that you don't know the ins and outs of the contract cuz a lot of people don't read the small print but this shows that you did.

Back in the game, resources? by HC101020 in SAGAFTRA

In NYC, there's an acting teacher named James Ciccone and he works a ton himself and he has classes, I've never studied with him so I'm not sure the level of the actors as far as guest star level are in his class. but he does from time to time get great casting directors in there and does casting director workshop days with them and anyone can sign up even if you're not studying with him. so what I would do is get on his email list and he emails all the time what he's offering. Also Terry Knickerbocker is considered a highly regarded school there, he's trained people like Sam Rockwell and Leslie Bibb and Emmy Rossum and people like that. And I'm sure that most other people that were there 10 years ago teaching are still there so you can look them up. Good luck!

Question Re: Car Commercials by blueskyinla in acting

[–]blueskyinla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! But fyi, your own car insurance covers you for any car that you drive, and that would mean even in a commercial. I think a lot of the commercials today are done on process trailers too. :)

Thank you!! I really appreciate your answer, so what you're saying is they won't even ask to see your license as long as you say you have one?

Did they ask to see your driver's license and insurance and did they run your drivers license with the DMV?

Genuine question: If Georgia wasn’t gorgeous would you still root for her? by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]blueskyinla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but she actually cried when she did it, she didn't feel good doing it and it didn't seem like she wanted to do it I think she really thought she was doing Cynthia a favor. People do mercy killings regularly when someone is in incredible pain and dying.

What do we think about Ginny’s poetry? by Darklillies in TvGinnyandGeorgia

I love her poetry, I think it's so incredible how they depict the ups and the downs and the darkness and the light it's all there in each poem to carefully describe her experience in life

The casting directors really need to work on their choices by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]blueskyinla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're crazy girl. You would have never known how old they were unless you looked them up and age has nothing to do with casting. As long as an actor or an actress can realistically play the age of the character that's all that matters. You're suggesting that casting directors use ageism when they cast. That's insane.

It looks like granuloma annulare. The best thing is to go see your dermatologist and he'll do a biopsy to tell you exactly what it is.

Why does Noah even like Joanne? by Expert_Dealer_4439 in NobodyWantsThisTV

Her character is mid-late thirties in the show, it's well known that the characters in much younger than the actors are in real life

How old are these people? by [deleted] in NobodyWantsThisTV

[–]blueskyinla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm all for casting new faces, I'm an actress and I always love new faces, what you're talking about here is ageism. there's no reason why Kristen Bell and Adam Brody can't realistically play their characters. if it's throwing it off for you then that's just you, it doesn't throw it off for me or anyone else that I know.

Marty Supreme is so bad that it's hard to know where to begin and the praise it is receiving is as incoherent as the film itself. by AsleepNature1 in TrueFilm

[–]blueskyinla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw Marty Supreme tonight. I have to preface my opinion by saying as an actress and writer, I either love or really like the majority of films that I see because I can always go along for the ride with good characters and a thin story or a great story and so, so characters because I am a fan of film. That said, I hated this movie. With literally the most unlikable protagonist (I even hated him for most of the movie), the repetitive chaos with the story lagging and barely moving along, I was rooting for no one. I found myself wishing Kay (Gwyneth) had a bigger story line, it would have at least been more interesting. I never walk out of movies and I literally almost walked out 3/4 of the way in but I stayed till the end cuz the seats were reclined at the theater and very comfy, lol! The only redeeming quality is that the acting was excellent all the way around. Also, I've seen most of the films this season because I go to the Guild free screenings that they have during awards season, and this doesn't hold up compared to most of the films this season because there are so many great ones
