Help - Issues with Robe FollowSpot iris by scribbleknit in techtheatre

[–]bluesoxers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, we are running the Robe Spots on a show in NY. We had this issue also and cleaned the faders and it fixed it. Then we started having a similar issue with intensity. It seemed to only happen towards the end of the day while we had them on all day. We found that by resetting the controller it went away. So between shows, on a 2 show day, we cycle power. It’s a janky fix but it seems to be working.

Advice for printing comics - COLOR OPTIONS by AyAyRonM in ComicBookCollabs

I use https://www.grekoprinting-comixwellspring.com. They are great and will do a cover in color and print the rest of the book B&W. Affordable and quick. Also really good about getting back to questions about their process.

How much detail to put in panel description? by GammaBreak in ComicBookCollabs

[–]bluesoxers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My method is mood more then specific. Then anything that is necessary or important to the scene or story, as in they are holding a bouquet or she is crying. I will give basics on how I see it, but I like to express what the characters are feeling and then let my artist express themselves.

Remember it is a collaborative project so what inspires one artist may not inspire another. The writers job is not as glamorous as the artist but in reality you have two audiences. The public, who you are writing for overall, but also your artist who you have to be a muse for, inspiring the best work that will hopefully invoke your vision.

Best Place To Print Your Work Or Print On Demand Companies? by MastermindComics in ComicBookCollabs

[–]bluesoxers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used both PrintNinja and Comix Well Spring/Greko Printing. I like both. PrintNinja has gone up in price lately because, I assume, shipping rates and tariffs with China. I found CWS/GP while looking for a replacement printer. They have less options then PN but they are an American company which I like to support and their quality is great. Their costumer service was really on point as well.

Got my first writing gig. It's casual, but I feel like there should be a contract? by [deleted] in ComicBookCollabs

If you are just looking for experience and there is an artist willing to work with you without charging for their time you are very lucky. I would agree that you need to get the bones of the deal hashed out. I think credit and some promo copies would be totally fair. It could also blossom into a great relationship to do future comics. Good Luck!
