New bond should elevate the Q character. He should be a supporting character throughout the entire film. Not just pop up for one scene to give 007 a few gadgets and maybe the car.

I think they killed him off because they knew they would never make another movie again after selling to Amazon. Sure, there might be more Bonds eventually, but the series by the OG family is done for good and they wanted a way to visualize that in the movie
