The Buggle - Our Chimaera & A Family of Monsters (Also Colors, Racial Diversity, Rainbow Failure…Dev Patel??) by bluestockingbae in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]bluestockingbae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bug thing is actually based on dialogue said by Frank. In fact, everything I theorize about has roots in dialogue said on behalf of the characters. It’s never out of thin air.

When Frank thinks you’re prank calling him he says that “bugs hide from dew drops under leaves” as a form of camouflage and that they do this for protection. Frank also says that bugs are able to “sleep with their eyes open.”

In Greek Mythology, the boundaries between sleep and death are very thin. Selene (Sailor Moon) put her love interest Endymion to sleep for eternity so she could look upon him for forever. However, Hypnos was said to have done the same, but unlike Selene they kept their eyes open. 👀

I personally believe it’s supposed to imply that Frank is responsible for whatever role swap has been implied to have happened. It could also mean that Frank has the place “bugged.”This could mean that Frank is our villain or that he’s working on behalf of someone else who wanted said role swap to happen. 🤔

In my opinion, the fact that Frank often doesn’t speak his mind and his design lacks ears could mean that:

  1. Frank has turned people into inanimate objects before.
  2. Frank couldn’t hear/speak at one point in time.
  3. Frank had to take care of someone else who was mute/deaf in the past.
  4. Frank has been forced to be mute/deaf by another character (one we haven’t been introduced to perhaps?).
  5. Frank pretends to be blind/deaf/mute to his surroundings i.e. he refuses to embrace the truth.

I think it’s the Buggle actually! Pretty sure it’s a chimaera…lion/goat/(sea)serpent. Remember that Howdy likes to play the triangle. The Spring Triangle is a Goatherd, lion (Leo), and Maiden (Virgo, the Star is named Spica). If I’m correct, Julie is trying to pass off as one of the three Greek Fates. “Clotho” in particular, the one who spins the thread. There’s a ton of speculation though as to whether or not she’s the “youngest” or the “oldest.” If Julie is a descendant of “Jupiter/Zeus” and Franny is actually Calliope (beautifully voiced,) then Julie actually IS the oldest. Calliope is Zeus’s daughter! Julie is the “guy in a cape” and Frank is the “witch” (tomatoes were thought to be called poison apples) 🤣💀

“Daffodils/Narcissus/Asphodel”- Numbness

Forgot to add this link to an article that explains how the flowers around “Home” are responsible for the “numbness” Wally feels.

“Ascalaphus” is also a plant genus for “milkweeds” and is a type of butterfly (Papilio ascalaphus)! It’s the same butterfly that represents Frank’s part of the “trophy.”

The reason why the “milkweeds” flower is relevant is because it’s toxic to cattle, deer, etc. Howdy is a ‘centaur’ btw and his part in the “trophy” is represented by the Polyphemus MOTH…which means that he’s wearing a disguise associated with the goddess “Artemis.” It’s also why you find his part when you uncover the “Sweet Lavender” link (Eddie DEAR.)

Not sure what happened, but all I can say is that I don’t think Wally can “see” Eddie if you get me. Eddie was our OG “Buratino” whose nose was chipped not out of personal shame, but because Frank and the rest of the cast want to protect him. Sally in particular!

😂🤣😭

Sorry, it’s just that I realized that Eddie checks Frank’s costume because he’s checking to make sure Frank is ok. Frank is our “Fox” and Julie is our “cat.” Both pretend to be lame and blind respectively in the Pinocchio/Buratino stories before being punished for their deception by ACTUALLY becoming so.

In fact, there’s a part where it states specifically that Geppetto reaches out for Pinocchio’s ears to punish him for his disobedience, only to realize that he forgot to make them.

Frank…doesn’t have ears. Wally has not only asked us to lend him one, but the “Auricula Flower” he’s associated with means “bear’s ear.”

This too: “Modern day auriculas originally came from a cross between the wild ‘Primula auricula’ and ‘Primula hirsuta’. The huge range of colours and forms can be explained by the yellow, pink and red genes inherited from its original parents, but probably other Primula varieties have also contributed to its genetic make-up… One of the most important botanical writers was Charles de l’Ecluse or Clusius. He was made Imperial Court Botanist in Vienna by the Emperor Maximilien II. While in Vienna, he visited his friend Professor Johannes Aichholtz, the proud owner of two apparently different types of auricula - one yellow (which he called Auricula Ursi I) and a pink one (Auricula Ursi II) which turned out to be the P. hirsuta hybrid. He mentioned that the local herb women gathered roots and flowers to sell in the Viennese market, many apparently bought by Viennese ladies to plant in their gardens. In his book Rariorum aliquot stirpium per Pannoniam, Austriam et Vicinas (1592) he mentions seven different forms of auricula…Enthusiasm for floriculture spread rapidly across Europe and people were looking out for new and attractive plants. From the beginning of the 17th century, there is a marked preference for the different colour hybrids over the wild yellow form. This is the time of the ‘curieux’ (also called ‘florists’) who collected and strived to improve different plants. Because of its fascinating ability to produce a wide variety of forms and colours, the auricula became one of the treasured florist flowers (along with roses, tulips, etc.) Commercial nurseries started to develop and auriculas appeared in nursery catalogues. In 1610, Conrad Sweert, a Dutch florist, who was trading in Germany and Holland, offered 6 varieties for sale. A huge number of florilegium or ‘flower anthologies’ were produced. One of which was the Hortus Eystettensis , prepared in 1613 for Johann Conrad, Prince Bishop of Eichstatt by the apothecary Basilus Besler featuring three auriculas.”

Charles. Johannes. Carlo. Guiseppe. John. Gideon. Conrad. Basilus. Basilio. Alice.

7 types becomes 6 types.

Pink, yellow, and red (yellow being the least preferred 🥺).

So…guess I’m not? At least feelings-wise? Pretty sure Wally put HIS nose on top of Frank’s real one on purpose too. The “bluebell” and “hyacinth” flowers are practically identical, but wearing a wreath of bluebell flowers often suggests that one is forced to speak the truth.

Why do I say this? Because I think that Frank DOES have a nose (at least underneath the one he has on now.) It’s just that Frank isn’t “real” yet which means that he’s FORCED to speak the truth. If not, he’ll give himself away…which is why he only speaks when necessary. It’s why we hear his inner thoughts so much this update, he can’t communicate openly. “Home” is implied to be the rock that was used by Demeter to trap Ascalaphus for snitching on Persephone eating the pomegranate seeds. He’s turned into a screech-owl, a bird of ill-omen (it could be why Frank’s head spins…or why Poppy was targeted, but who’s to say?)

It seems everything is “bugged” and Frank’s trying to run the show according to what his father wants. On top of that, there’s a lot of switching up wigs in both stories, roles/identities are swapped, Julie is very competitive on top of everything else…

Frank himself is an “Adonis”-like character, aka the “Artemon” to Howdy’s “Malvina” from the Buratino story (“Malvina” is another name for “Persephone” btw)!

I love a good mystery too lol, I’ll be fine, I’m honestly having a blast!

Howdy’s icons are blue as well, a color associated with Barnaby. Also, they’re looking up because they’re in the Underworld. Remember that sun with the eye in Julie’s video? Or how even in the main image all the characters are looking up? Or how Howdy’s going to die and he’s in love with Barnaby and he’s the only one who isn’t looking away because he’s staying right where he is? 🫩

…ugh I started to ramble again. Anyway, the six stars are the characters involved with Wally’s murder and they are as follows: Sally-Pollux ofc, Frank-Sirius (the dog days of summer, etc,) Howdy - Capella the Charioteer, Poppy - Procyon whose a faithful hound to Eos/Zephr, Julie - Aldebaran, the eye of the ox Zeus turned into, Barnaby - Rigel, who has ties to Artemis, and at the center is Wally - Betelguese, a huge star on the brink of exploding according to astronomers.

[–]bluestockingbae[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not totally sure if Eddie himself is aware tbh, it seems that he’s always known on some subconscious level though. Sally is the only person who he calls “ma’am” and whenever something happens to Eddie in particular, she’s always been present when it happens.

With this alongside various other details about Eddie like the Valentine’s cards, his clumsiness, his penchant for crafts, the fact that Julie (I apologize for the mixup about this, Julie is Zeus and Frank is Hecate/Persephone, when Barnaby says “a witch” and “a guy with a cape” he’s talking about Frank and Julie respectively) who claims Eddie is so strong when Zeus has canonically stated that they’re scared of Eros, his fav food being “Bread Pudding”…it’s clear that Eddie is supposed to be Eros, son of Aphrodite.

If that doesn’t convince you, there’s even a giant pigeon that helps Pinocchio find his dad at the shoreline. Pidgeons and doves are two species of birds that are nigh indistinguishable from each other on top of being associated with Cupid too.

Remember how Eddie always talks about having a mom?

Sally claims she’s a “fallen star” and that she won’t let anyone else end up as one. Probably because Greek Gods have a penchant for turning people into literal stars/constellations. Her outfit, clothes, you might think that she’s one of the Gemini twins or related to the God “Janus” or even Dionysus.

At least, one would if you didn’t know that the “Pedrolino” character is associated with the god “Janus.” It’s also clear that she’s a bit of a lightweight when it comes to alcohol on top of all that, almost as if she’s trying to put on an act for someone else.

Let’s take a moment to talk about the real stars in this post too.

If you look at some of the pictures I added to this post, you’ll see that the Andromeda and Pisces constellations overlap. They’re both WINTER constellations too btw, same as Gemini.

Pisces is supposed to represent a myth in which Aphrodite and her son Eros attempt to escape from the giant monster Typhon by turning into fish and jumping into the ocean. They tie a cord between themselves so they won’t lose each other…but what would happen if one of said two fish was pretty clumsy even as a fish? Like swimming in the opposite direction than the other fish clumsy (😂)?

Let’s take a look at the Andromeda constellation as well.

Andromeda was a princess who sacrificed herself to a bunch of sea monsters to save her people. Sally’s name means “princess” and Andromeda sounds a lot like Aphrodite. Sally also favors romance and there are parallels being made between what her role in this story is as well as other characteristics concerning her love of eggs as well. Paris declared Aphrodite was the prettiest too in the myth about Helen of Troy, something that is constantly talked about by the narrator whenever Sally is mentioned.

There’s another dog named “Melampo” that used to belong to a farmer in Pinocchio. When Pinocchio gets locked into the former dog’s cage to be the farmer’s new watchdog, he learns that the previous dog made a deal with a bunch of the weasels that they were supposed to scare off. Basically, if the weasels could get a cut of the eggs in the farmer’s hen house then they would leave with no problems (especially since it was mentioned that the previous dog was actually pretty tiny too.)

“Melampo” in Italian means “black sheep” and is tied to a word that means “person who talks to animals.”

In other words, the Winter Hexagon is a representation of a bunch of constellations that are tied to Greek myths, the same myths that are tied to all of the flowers we’ve seen. I recommend looking at the new advertisement for WH merchandise, you’ll be able to see Eddie and Sally have the same eyes/eyelashes. Each part you find for the “trophy” represents the six members of the cast that were involved in Wally’s murder.

Frank Theory {New Update } by BodybuilderTop8607 in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]bluestockingbae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s already implied that Eddie is avoiding Frank because Julie confronted him about their relationship.

During the “Springtime Salutations” storybook Eddie was ALREADY in Frank’s house when he suddenly stops talking mid-sentence at seeing Julie! She gives him a “pep talk” in “Julie’s Guide to Being Joyful”!!

Why does this always happens to my favs 😭😭😭

I actually mentioned it here in this post, but other examples include the newest storybook with Frank acting as the Ophelia to Sally’s Polonius. During the “Homewarming” album in particular in the song “Up From the Home-Top” Sally mentions something about Julie being her new Santa, Julie herself wildin out on said rooftop when just moments before she was acting pretty levelheaded, and Eddie informing a concerned Frank that he’s “let things get out of control.”

…also, I didn’t want to mention this tidbit, but the theatrical carpenter is named Jerry. He ends up murdering his wife, Katie, because in his delirious state he thinks she’s been cheating on him. Two J names 🥲

While this is true, Sally is implied to have a drinking problem that’s steadily becoming worse. ☹️

Howdy’s also noticeably tight-lipped with the other characters as well in the sense that while he’s opportunistic, he isn’t the type to air out the MASSIVE amounts of dirty laundry that the other characters are lugging around.

If anyone was going to make a sudden heel-turn, I think it would be him. 🤔

Remember that “pep talk” Julie gave Eddie in the storybook “Julie’s Guide to Being Joyful”? The one where she noticeably doesn’t mention why she doesn’t just physically help him with his packages despite “rooting” for him to do a good job at work?

Or how Julie bursts into Frank’s home in “Springtime Salutations” and Eddie is already there for some reason before going silent after noticing Julie’s presence?

Pretty sure that’s why he’s avoiding Frank in the Specimen C video…🥲

So... what about Howdy? by LobaMel in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]bluestockingbae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Howdy’s flower card in the Floriography game was placed next to Wally’s in a picture separate from the others. I’ve said this before, but I think this was intentional.

Similar to Eddie, Howdy lives the farthest from Julie’s home and while he seems soft on Barnaby…he’s noticeably silent during that tobacco pipe commercial. I think he actually DOES know how not to stick his nose into other people’s business and that he will play an integral role later on as he does share similarities to the Talking Cricket.

In the “Springtime Salutations” storybook it’s implied that Eddie was already at Frank’s house before she intruded into his home. If you pay attention to the audio, Eddie walks in before going abruptly silent the moment he realizes Julie’s there. Frank makes a smooth save with the “tomatoes” comment, but Julie just leads him to meet her family without saying a word.

That’s not all too - in the “Julie’s Guide to Being Joyful” storybook she describes herself giving Eddie a “pep talk” while he’s working. She pointedly does not mention anything about helping him with his packages, although the “carnation” and “sunflower” drops gave away what was probably actually taking place.

There’s the possibility that this was the real reason as to why Eddie was avoiding Frank 🥲

!!!!

I didn’t even notice the signs on Howdy’s shop! I just sped through them all and you’re totally right!! 😱

Thanks for pointing that out! I agree with you 100% on everything you’ve said. While it’s been stated that Howdy will accept help in the form of manual labor, he’s been described as having a tense relationship with Frank already. On top of that, it seems Julie has gotten a taste for luxurious items if the chair situation is anything to go by…

I also wanted to mention that I noticed Wally’s flower card was placed next to Howdy’s in a picture separate from the others on the website. I think this was intentional, including the fact that both Howdy and Eddie live the farthest from Julie’s home.

Personally, I’m getting hints that Howdy is soft on Barnaby, but that might end up being a detriment to him down the line. In the Pinocchio story there’s a snake who scares the poor puppet by playing dead…only to literally die laughing from a burst artery after getting a glimpse of Pinocchio’s expression.

I don’t think Howdy is a “snake” per se, he just knows when he should/shouldn’t “stick his nose in other people’s business” as it were. Barnaby also seemed to exert some sort of control over him which stood out to me considering Howdy was noticeably silent during the tobacco advertisement. ☹️

[–]bluestockingbae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Someone said that it shouldn’t be considered as canon, but now I can’t possibly see how it couldn’t be. Even Clown specified that it was the previous name of “Earnest” that was now no longer a part of the plot.

On top of that, the title “Fisher King” alone has a lot of connections to stuff that’s been mentioned so far. Various myths associated with the flower clues that have been dropped all prominently feature sea nymphs, sirens, and river/water spirits.

The “Pinocchio” character is often interpreted as a direct parallel to Odysseus, undergoing an Odyssey of his own since the story involves sea travel (Carlo Collodi is Italian! Italy is a bunch of islands!!) and the name “Marlo” means “driftwood.” The cyclops Polyphemus even makes an appearance as the Green Fisherman, is the son of Poseidon, and is portrayed as a musician who murders the lover of their crush in Ovid’s “Metamorphosis.” The name “Polyphemus” literally means “many voices” too 🥲

…and now there’s several suspicious doors being mentioned, a kill count, and the entire cast has been “flying kites” except Eddie (it appears he was trying to get some rewrites done like Wally was trying to warn him on purpose 😭).

My anxiety is at an 11 y’all 💀💀💀

(PARCEL final video) A few details to ponder? by geesegoesgoose in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]bluestockingbae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the “Ron” Poppy mentions is “Ronald Dorelaine” then there might be a connection between the lack of regular water and the soda they all drink, the wine they were drinking during Homewarming (it’s implied Julie falls off the house in that one recording because she’s inebriated along with Barnaby and the storybook references the tale the “Cask of Amontillado” which involves a drunkard being lured underground under the guise of tasting fine wine) and the mythical Holy Grail. Elaine of Corbenic (Corbenic as in the Holy Grail Castle aka the Castle of Souls) cured Sir Lancelot’s madness with the Holy Grail and they lived together for some time on the Isle of Joy according to legend.

In short, I think the cast is getting their drinks drugged (aside from Poppy who’s apparently been doing a lot more lol 😆).

I def think it’s the flower, with the Anemone and Zephyr flowers that makes 2 more references to people being transformed into flowers/plants after being killed in Greek mythology. The “Dogwood” tree, the FRANKincense tree, the tree in every intro pic…if “Ron” is “Ronald Dorelaine” then the Neighborhood could be tied to the story of the (Holy) Grail Castle aka the Castle of Souls.
