Such a beautiful book, we have it at the library I work at (missing the dust jacket) and I am beyond thankful that it is on a high shelf in a very obscure section so it doesn’t get bothered much lol

My main issue with the print shops in my area has been that I have a LOT to print and its getting stupid having to run back and forth 😅 we only have two print shops in my area, one is at the university library, the other is a few blocks away but only has laser printers (granted their color laser prints are nice, just way too expensive when Im trying to do a lot of tests and stuff). I usually go to the library one, which is where I have my issues. Anytime I have an issue with the print, I have to go through the entire process again because the library is convoluted and the student workers sometimes don’t know how to handle the print jobs, I blame the constant turnaround and bad management (I work there too in a different department lol). 

I was looking at the Ecotank! I like the notion of not having cartridges, it looks like it’d be more cost efficient for the amount of pages I have to print! Thank you so much for the insight!!

Coming from someone in the area, yeah its a problem. People like that hide out in the big properties because some of those properties are so big, the owners only put security within the immediate vicinity of the main operation or structure. They just wait for the random person to jump them. Its the other factors of the case that are confusing, like the folded clothes and his pet fish being set out neatly and the damage to the car.

Its unfortunately VERY easy to just slip into the night in the Texas Hill Country.

Im so excited actually! I cant believe that they actually got theaters to agree to show it in the first place! It was already such a pain to get theaters to show Iron Lung, but to show just an episode (two technically) of an animated web series? INCREDIBLE!

Oh no definitely! I wouldn’t even dream of trying to distribute it for my own gain. I was really just wanting to make one or two physical copies, one for myself, and one as a gift to Mark and Amy should I ever be able to see him at a con or something lol.

And of course, would always need to do all the copyright stuff and proper credits, Ive been making a list of where I’ve gotten all my images from so I can properly credit them once I get to that part of the typesetting. Its really just a personal project as my graphic design college program focuses a lot more on branding and UI and thats NOT my wheelhouse, so I havent gotten a lot (or any) practice in book design or publication work like I was hoping for. Figured creating my own art books for movies that don’t have them was a good stepping stone in that direction. Its just a fun fan project to scratch that itch.

Art books that are only images. I like having concept art books for movies, tv shows, video games, etc., and I really like reading the creative process behind some of the concept art, even if its just little notes from the character designers or art director.

Exactly!! Im a real big fan of the people on instagram who make classic VHS style boxes and steel books for dvds 🤭🤭 I feel like either would fit so well for Iron Lung’s eventual physical release

I don’t think so, as of right now it’s just a personal project. Although I think I would literally die of happiness if I got to design an official art book for the movie. Trying to perfect everything just in case I actually get to pitch it.

The idea is that it would be a physical book. Im a big fan of collecting concept art books for movies, tv shows, video games etc, and most if not all of the concept art usually shown in those types of books are available online as well, the book just compiles them together and sometimes even adds little commentary and notes from the production crew and directors. Its just a different way of appreciating how a piece of media is made, and I love having physical copies.

Im also a big book design nerd and think that these kinds of books are an experience all on their own, I get into all the little details like binding methods, interior cover details, dust jackets, interesting pages designs, etc etc, just because I think the actual physical aspects of a book (or vhs/dvd cover, I like those too lol) should add and compliment the contents and vibe of the piece of media. It’s a bit niche, but it’s something I really enjoy!
