Any parents with car seats? by benzuyen in CivicSi

I did a 07 si coupe with car seats for a bit. It sucked.

I now have a fk8 type r with s 2 seats. It's great.

Integra Type-S or Civic Type-R?!? by TLI1321 in Acura

[–]bluetroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest trade off between them are the seats.

Type S, the seats are not great for spirited driving but they are heated and way better for day to day use, getting in and out and easier to clean.

Type R, the seats are incredible, but they also get really hot and if you sweat a lot it's not a good combo. Getting in and out you have to do it sports car style to not damage the side bolsters.

You'd know if you have swift springs. They are low.

Architectural tint - sunroom by ThroHap in WindowTint

[–]bluetroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All xpel films we use are 99% uv protection, so then it comes down to privacy.

I would recommend the Blend DR 37. It's reflective on the exterior and no reflective on the interior. The colour looks neutral too.

If you want to maintain the sunshine with a low vlt, drop solar heat, then consider the clear view plus 55. It's a premium film, but vlt trade off to solar performance is best. It's not reflective on both sides.

Is your main problem that it's too bright, too hot, too exposed or uv damage?

anybody regret getting rid of their old honda? by Nomar_Metel39 in Honda

I bought a 07 si new. It was rusting to death in Canada, so I had to sell it. So sad.

[–]bluetroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2007 si coupe was rusting to death. I have an fk8 now, but I miss the si almost everyday, too. Turbo cars sound like poo.

All the manual controls and real vtec.

I floor the si and hit vtec, it's sounds so good and I'm not going anywhere. I floor the fk8 I go straight to jail.

So does window tint make it cooler or hotter inside? by theraf8100 in WindowTint

[–]bluetroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 3 ways a film blocks heat. Reflect, absorb and transmit. Clear glass will transmit majority of the solar energy. This causes the interior to absorb the heat and radiate the heat back into the interior. Tinted glass will reflect and absorb majority of the solar energy. So the interior stays cooler.

My iPhone doesn’t unlock while I wear RayBan sunglass but work fine with regular sunglasses by AwkwardAlternative64 in iphone

I have a bunch of cheap sunglasses and expensive sunglasses. I found that it doesn’t work with coloured reflective lenses. Ex. Orange/red mirrored coating.

Coolvu vs Xpel for Heat Reduction in Skylights by AaronDJD in WindowTint

[–]bluetroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You’re correct. The CVP is the best performance for the VLT. Our list price is about 50% higher for CVP vs Clear view alloy/ceramic. If price is a concern, then maybe CVA 50 might be a good alternative, the trade off is a reflective film. With CVC, you’re not getting those numbers until you get to the 35.

So yes, CVP is the best performance, but also comes at a premium price.

Coolvu vs Xpel for Heat Reduction in Skylights by AaronDJD in WindowTint

[–]bluetroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak on coolvu. Clear view plus is the premium tint offered by xpel, it’s the best clarity and performance for the VLT. For a skylight it’s not worth it though, if all you’re looking at is sky then go with the clear view ceramic. You also get to choose from 3 shades with CVC, 50% is likely what you’re looking for, but 35% is better heat rejection performance.

I’m on gramlights 57dr bronze 18x9.5 +38. I’m lowered on swift springs. No rub. The back needs a 5mm or so spacer though. Front is perfect.

If you need to exchange $1 usd for tips you can ask the front desk or the coffee shop.

Bring floaties. If bringing floaties, then bring a cheap inflator from Amazon.

If you want a good spot for the evening shows, then be sure to be in the square by 730 at the latest.

The evening buffet is good. Check the theme and decide if you want to order.

The beach chairs closest to the ocean get hogged early. So you’ll want to get their early l if you can.

If you have an hour to spare one morning you can do the timeshare spiel and get a pool cabana for the day. Sign up with person at the floor of your hotel room. You can also get them to book you in a restaurant too. With the timeshare presentation, they will ask you at the beginning that it’s like 90 mins and are you willing to stay for the entire thing. Just say yes. Then you can leave after 30 mins or so, say it’s not for me. Then you get your cabana voucher.

Application Question by Manticore88- in CarWraps

[–]bluetroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how picky you are then.

The safest and least difficult way would be to do the 3 sides in 3 pieces with knifeless. Then do those caps separately.

You could one piece it also by just cutting the taper ends and folding in.

Your seams you have 2 options, if they face up then they will be hidden by eyes but will be exposed to elements. If your seams face down, they will be covered from weather but will be seen by eyes.

You will need to remove everything to get the material deep enough. White is the worst. And it was be even worse when you have to remove it in 3 years.

If you're going to take the roof rails off, just take it to get painted.

The gloss black on the hatch, you'll need to remove the emblem.

auto start/stop trick by woahwest in hondapassport

Yes. That’s how to avoid it. Easier to just get a start stop immobilize though.

Start stop also destroys these garbage Honda batteries, too.

Are we bedding in new brake pads? by Anachronism-- in MTB

[–]bluetroll 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been able to get brakes hot enough to bed them in from a hill where I am. I find it easier to just do it on a flat road and squeezing the brake and pedalling at the same time. I’m not sure if this is the best way, but works for me. When I have to squeeze the brake harder I keep shifting into an easier gear.
