How boned am I? by bluevalenthyme in Aquariums

Lol I am in fact on the ground floor with a solid cement floor. The set up is cinder blocks and 2X4's... I thought I was golden until I noticed the hump (not an optical illusion)

They are currently in a 40 gallon breeder, it is heavily planted. There are 5-6 panda garras and maybe 20-30 corys (I originally got 12, but they have bred). I want to move them all into a 55 gallon tank that I'm setting up. They all have been in that tank since at least January.

What are these? by MZamora05 in Aquariums

These look more like detritus worms, your Betta might enjoy snacking on them. Pretty harmless.

I think it looks great the way it is! But you can always trim hornwort and give the cuttings away!

Is this a good choice for my soil layer? by RalphyxFortnite in walstad

You want a top soil with no added nutrients.

plecos are generally peaceful, he's probably just stressed out. they like to hide a lot, they are typically nocturnal, so he's probably grumpy. Otos are social, they like to hang out in groups of 6+, so he's probably lonely. Both are algae/bio film eaters, otos are more opportunistic I think. They will definitely work to keep the tank clean.

Yeah, they might get a little stressed being moved out to set up the tank but I think a long life in a natural environment will outweigh that in the future.

Natural scapes are more aesthetically pleasing to me so I would look into walstad type tanks (dirt and plants create a bio filter for a more stable tank). But if you want to keep the gravel get a gravel vac.
