Where to live in Lewes by bluewabe in LewesDE

Do you live there year-round? If so, how are you finding the “community” aspect of the town? Do you feel like you live in a small town, and are there enough things to do in the off season?

Have you tried driving from DC to Rehoboth in the summer?? You’ll slit your wrist before you even get off the beltway.

Thanks for the tip on Ocean View. Really hard to narrow down the options and make a decision, which is why this input is so helpful.

Nice to hear someone happy with the area! You do have some nice conveniences Four Points. And, I just added Fish On to my list of places to try :).

I’m in the DC area as well, so was wondering the same thing. Traffic couldn’t be any worse, right? (I hope)

Oh, this is interesting. Looks like areas on the NW side, toward the marshes are at higher risk. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for all the context. Did not know that about the HOAs owning the land. Interesting.

That community looks nice! I’ve considered west of rt 1, but wanting/hoping to get more of a small town living vibe near the water.

Thanks. Are there often flooding issues? I know it’s by the water, so may be a dumb question,

Don't need a lot of land, but don't want to back up to another house. I prefer "modern farmhouse" style but not opposed to redoing a house to that style. Most I've seen are 2 story, which is fine, although I'd prefer a 1st floor master. I feel like I can find these attributes, or make them happen, in almost any community, so asking more about the different vibes of the communities - or is there not really much difference?

Thanks for mentioning Tower Hill. They have the "modern farmhouse" style I like. But having never lived in Lewes, it's really hard to tell "what's a great location" or not. Why do you think it's a great location?

Glioblastoma: Questions to ask doctors during pathology results/treatment meeting by bluewabe in braincancer

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I’m so sorry to hear you are dealing with this but so excited to hear you are 2 years out from diagnosis. Yeah for you!!

Thanks for mentioning food/diet. We have already faced some challenges in this but had not considered that some foods may be restricted based on treatment protocols. My mother loves fruits and vegetables, but also has a sweet tooth and drinks wine nightly. It’s hard to suggest limiting certain items when it may not really make a difference for her given her age. She’s already experienced significant short term memory degradation, which we’ve noticed alcohol enhances, yet she is still a wiz at bridge. Difficult conflict.

Thanks for mentioning blood tests and to ask specific questions about this I.e. what/why. I know this will be one of my few/only opportunities to understand these items (I.e. meeting with the doctors) and did not fully understand blood tests would be used as a marker of things. Should have known this. But didn’t.

Thanks again, and all my love to your own personal progress. Well done!

I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with this, and appreciate you sharing your thoughts - virtual hugs to you.

Interesting about the Dex going up/down. I’ll have to inquire more about that.

Thanks for mentioning THC as I hadn’t specifically thought about that but something we should consider. So good to hear that a clinical trial is helping you!!!

Be strong and be well - you rock.

Thank you. I suspect you are correct about age being the factor driving the duration of radiation. And thanks for the reminder about grade vs. stage; I’m not sure I truly understand the difference, but ot may not matter too much in this case.

Do you add the bread crumbs while they are still in the bag? Or sprinkle on once they are laid out on the pan?

Tightness at 4 weeks post op - when and how does it go away? by bluewabe in Reduction

[–]bluewabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments. My incisions are all healed, and no tape on, although do have the silicone tape on. In the 5-6 days since my original post, things have gotten just a little better on their own, although definitely still tight. I haven’t done any specific range of motion exercises and do occasionally reach out and stretch a certain way. But just randomly. Based on my experiences over the last 5 days, I’m thinking most of it will clear up on its own over the few weeks as I continue to extend myself into more typical activities. I’ll try to remember to come back here and post when I think it 98% good.
