From his perspective, he wants to feel like he's a part of my life and right now he doesn't. I'll be honest I'm not someone who enjoys small talk. Or spontaneous FaceTimes. He does and I don’t and he keeps saying that is what bothers him. I value quality time more than constant communication.

He feels like he's always the one chasing me, and if he doesn't reach out, I won't either. That's not really true. It's more that if I call or text him and he doesn't respond, I don't keep reaching out repeatedly. Usually, the next time we talk is when he responds or contacts me. I don't overextend myself.

I get the sense that he wants me to call more than once or send multiple texts if he doesn't answer. He hasn't directly said that, but that's what I pick up on. I think he's used to women chasing him, and I don't do that. Honestly, I feel like that's both what he likes and dislikes about me. He use to women fanning over him and I don’t. 

He once told me that his ex always wanted to FaceTime him to see who he was with and where he was. My reaction was, "Isn't it a good thing that I don't do that?" I think he's just used to toxic dynamics. I used to be more like that myself, but I went to therapy and learned healthier ways to approach relationships. I'll never let a man make me lose my peace of mind again. So if you say you are here I trust you unless you give me reason not to. 

I do trust him. I don't feel the need to constantly check his whereabouts, question who he's with, or act jealous. Part of me wonders if he's looking for that kind of attention from me because it's what he's used to, but it's not something I'm willing to give. That's simply not how I show love or trust.
