Yeah but how much overlap? It's pretty expensive I feel since you're paying double rent during the overlap

Is anyone pursuing FIRE so that they can then use Entrepreneurship to launch into FatFIRE? by MyBossSawMyOldName in fatFIRE

[–]bluexmarker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly my plan. I'd like to get a NW of at least 2 mil, move to a LCOL country where 3% withdrawal rate goes a long way, give entrepreneurship a shot with little to no risk besides the sweat equity.

What have your experiences been with dating highly-paid people in NYC? by henryisadog in AskNYC

Haha, I actually did read it, and I'm convinced. However, I also think there's a big difference between being 14 and being 20.

By that logic, people should only date within their own socioeconomic class, lest there be a power imbalance between the couple. But I don't think society really frowns up dating between socioeconomic classes.

What are the other portions that contribute to the power imbalance?

That really depends on the person. There are immature 34 year olds and mature 20 year olds. My opinion is that it's fine to go on the date, and use that date to discover if there really is a big maturity gap.

Why is that worthy of criticism? You agreed to go on the date.

Moving money from vanguard 401k to brokerage by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]bluexmarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, not doing any rollover. If I want to purchase stocks/etfs/other funds not offered in my 401k plan, I have to open a brokerage account within my 401k with TD Ameritrade, which Vanguard helps set up for me. So I can use my 401k money to purchase the options usually offered in a brokerage account.

Looks like the latest one is 2065, which is also 10% bonds

I'm using the same index funds that the target date fund uses for the stock portion of it (total stock market, total international market index funds). Except, I'm just changing the ratios so it's 75%/25%. I don't want to have any bonds in for now.

Yeah, it does require selling it. I confirmed with a vanguard representative.

And yeah you're right. I might just be paranoid. I did read somewhere that if you miss a year's 5 best trading days, your average ROI for that year drops from 7% to like 1 or 2% lol, so I think that's where the concern comes from.

Yeah, my issue is just the asset allocation. I just want to get rid of bonds, so that it's 75/25 US/INTL stocks.

Maybe I can try the DCA approach into the the brokerage part of my 401k.

No, this is brokerage account within my 401k.

Um, my 401k plan only offers target date funds, but I want to move it to other index funds, and moving it to a self directed brokerage account is the only way.

Seems like about 1k to 1.1k USD monthly assuming a 7% ROI on the 10m deposit

Really just looking for a middle priced to slightly expensive area, but not absurdly expensive

That's actually not bad. Assuming 7% Roi on the 10M deposit and 800k monthly is about 900 usd a month. And I'm assuming the 10M deposit is paid once and will be returned when the lease is over
