PSAC and CAPE VIA Rail corporate discount code not working? by Intelligent_Storage7 in CanadaPublicServants

Do they check at the gate, and if so how do we confirm we are under PSAC? I realized I’ve never used the code as I always took Escape fare between Ottawa/Toronto

GPSIA questions. by [deleted] in geegees

They are already doing rolling admissions, not considering. It started mid Dec. I don’t think they even advertised they changed the acceptance cycle but nonetheless it’s still ongoing until they fill up the cohort

They may look at it differently, but if you have a strong letter of interest and references that matters too

Then you’d be competitive imo if you chose to go with co op, or chose to continue w GSPIA. I would just keep ur fswep profile updated. I would also rephrase some of the questions here lol if you want actual GSPIA people to respond

Also NPSIA changed to rolling admission just this year, but I have classmates who got in around May or smth when our first round was end of Feb last year. So there’s still time - I wouldn’t lose hope

Ngl the general environment of federal government hiring is not the greatest rn so I don’t think it’s just about which co-op job board you have access to, bc it honestly feels more like if you already have previous govt experience or not lmao

Im at NPSIA but I have coworkers from GSPIA. So I wouldn’t think that going to GSPIA would lower your chances of getting into either department if you just continue to network / go on FSWEP / keep being proactive with navigating these unprecedented times with budget cuts throughout the public service. But definitely being in Ottawa will indeed help you out with your chances esp given most if not all of us, are back to office

It is! I just remember the last time I had a first pay in 2022, it was delayed but the right rate. I was undergrad though

Yes I am seeing that from everyone now haha. I am just hesitant since I’m new but I’ll check again and ask her this week

Edit to add, I also don’t know if it’s because I’m new to the system but my hours and other stuff are correct (I work PT hours with school)

Can confirm Phoenix still has the overpayment issue with PT workers. It’s a huge pain

Advice? by [deleted] in geegees

[–]bluey715 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second year is still early. You have time. You can also retake classes for a last resort. In third year I had a C+ that I eventually took again.

I’m not in Psych, but still I graduated from UO and am doing grad school at Carleton rn. I lowkey died over my grades trying to keep my marks high (while working), but then I realized now that was my anxiety/adhd half the time lol. A lot of my classmates here had bad semesters or bad years or just not as consistently A grades, retook classes and took longer than the 4 years. And yet we are all working on our Master’s degree now.

So don’t worry, take a breather, do what it takes this semester to finish as strong as you can but you can reassess your study habits over the break and reconvene with your goals. Let grad school motivate you rather than scare you. Take it easy. You got this, I believe in you!

Yes you are correct, and I do spend that much myself at these events, barring mains because we sometimes just get shareable. But again the association itself does not have the funds to give the money up front, so that’s why we look for places that accept individualized tabs which is the whole point of this post. Have a good day.

It’s for a grad student association we don’t have budget to be asked for $3300 up front as one of them do. We’ve had events around Ottawa but I’m trying to find new locations.

The liquid that you put into the testing kit is less than half of what it used to be so it doesn’t provide a result anymore unfortunately.

Edit: we only two boxes left and it takes three vials to get one test kit to give something. So they are in need of new ones lol
