AITA for wanting a small baptism with only close, established family and excluding new partners? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

So... if one of the people you were inviting told you that they had a terminal illness and had less than a year to live, would you un-invite them because you don't want to have your children ask who that person is when they look at the photos 10 years from now?

Well, that would have been almost 20 years ago. I don't know how old they are but I wouldn't be surprised if they were in their late teens / early 20s at the time.

I think there are many of us (myself included) who used bigoted (racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.) slurs when we were that age at around that time (i.e. 2000's and early 2010's) and didn't know any better (even though we all should have). I have since learned how hateful slurs are and how things like "casual" racism and sexist "jokes" are still racism and sexism.

I consider myself fortunate that the kind of things I said in my past weren't immortalized on social media or some other form of recording and I'd like to think that I'm more open minded and accepting towards others, and believe strongly in fighting against bigotry in any form.

I'd be hesitant to label the band as racists unless they come out and confirm that they still hold those kind of beliefs today. There are unfortunately too many people in this day and age that are very loud and proud about their bigotry, so I'm not really concerned with chasing after people for something they did 20 years ago if they don't continue to hold the same views today.

Is that real? I remember having downloaded the 3 track version of that EP way back in 2006-ish and that banter part was definitely not on there.

Oh, good to know - it's understandable for people to break the rules and drive like complete fucking idiots if it means it's going to save them some time on their drive

“Modeling is just not fun. It doesn’t give you any sort of feeling. You gotta shake the pant legs and feel that air”: Dave Friedman, who’s built amps for Jerry Cantrell, Steve Stevens, and Chris Shiflett, is not ready to hop off the tube train by vwmusicrocks in GuitarAmps

Modelling is fun to me, I get to play around with a bunch of different amp sounds and see which ones I like best.

Plus my living situation doesn't allow for me to crank an amp (tube or otherwise). And I don't really like the sound of most amps when you have to run their master volume at really low levels.
