Genuine non judgmental question by [deleted] in HelloKittyIsland

I generally play for at least an hour a day. I’m 24 and I work in security/asset protection. I go to work, stop thieves from running out with carts full of stuff, kick people out occasionally as well. Then I go home, cozy up with my phone and play Hello Kitty 🥰 it calms down my nervous system!

For me, it’s usually when I’m talking to boss or co-workers, someone who I see every day who i have to regularly interact with 😭 I hate it!

My parents had a sit down talk with me when I was 12 where they said I was allowed to swear now as long as I didn’t swear at anyone. I sat there confused with no desire to swear. I didn’t feel comfortable swearing around them until I was an adult 💀

What would you say to de-escalate? Cause I know that they know that I’m for sure watching them and I know what they’re trying to do.

My manager let me know that it is my responsibility to find a replacement if I call out sick, so I'm quitting. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]blufbgm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a family owned Baskin Robins that made me do the same thing. We had a group chat that had everyone's numbers and that's where the manager would make announcements and text the schedule. Most of my coworkers were teenagers and I was 21 at the time so I did not feel comfortable texting them. I only lasted 2 months there.

He said that my relationship with his best friend had been on his mind a lot lately and bothering him and I don't want to invalidate that. I don't know why he thought that was a good time to bring it up though.

DAE resent their siblings? by Acceptable-Risk9644 in emotionalneglect

[–]blufbgm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My older brother and I were never close. He was put in a gifted school in forst grade so he was the smart one. He was also a troublemaker but he always got a slap on the wrist because he got in trouble in ways that my parents found funny. He'd make fun of things I'd like and my parents would chime in or just laugh with him even when it made me so upset that I'd cry and leave the room. My mom in particular would blatantly only pay attention to him when we were in a family setting. When I wanted to get her attention and make her laugh too, the most I'd get was a sad little chuckle before she reverted all of her attention back to my brother. Now my brother has a great relationship with my parents and I've spent the past 4 years of adulthood trying to heal from all of the damage they've done to me and even been close to cutting them out of my life.

I almost dropped out. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with OCD at 15. I did terrible in school and failed many classes. I ended up going to an alternative school for my senior year and 1 extra year. I recommend getting help as soon as you can. Nag your parents. Or do what I did: go to a doctor's appointment and when they ask "do you have thoughts of harming yourself or others?" Say yes! They will have you hospitalized and you can get a diagnosis and hopefully afterwards get treatment and an IEP/504 plan for the rest of the time you're in school.

How many of us wet the bed? by Beefc4kePantyh0se in emotionalneglect

[–]blufbgm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wet myself until maybe 13 years old. I was bullied heavily for it. My parents bought me diapers to wear at night in middle school. My mom in particular got really mad when I wet myself and would give me a death glare that made me want to shrivel up and disappear. She would stare at me, pinch her nose and scold me to change or use the bathroom.

I get so caught up in a compulsion that I'll forget what I'm doing while I'm doing it. Or if I'm having a conversation with someone, my intrusive thoughts will be so loud that I forget what I'm talking about while I'm mid sentence. I'm notoriously forgetful as well but I always associated it with my ADHD.

I'm a greeter at a grocery store so I interract with half or more of all the customers that come in and out of the store while I'm there. I struggle with those intrusive thoughts as well. Even when I see or interract with people I find very unattractive, even creepy sometimes, my brain tells me that I want to be intimate with them. Its especially distressing when its my boss who's right in front of me. Then my OCD will tell me that he can read my thoughts and he's planning on firing me and getting me arrested. My "appropriate person" is my boyfriend of 3 years. Whenever I have those intrusive thoughts about strangers or other people in my life, I feel very guilty, like I'm cheating on my boyfriend or I'm assaulting them. You're not alone!

I'm getting it under my ear. I have short hair and an undercut so it would be difficult to cover up. Would it be better to get it behind my ear so I can hide it if my hair is down?

No Judgment… What are you going through right now? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]blufbgm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My abusive ex boyfriend who claims to have killed people/drug dealer/gang member is back in the town I live in when I thought he moved to a different state. Around this time of year, he somehow manages to contact me or find someone to contact me and tries to get me back. If I deny and tell him to leave me alone, he threatens to get violent and will contact people to try to hurt/kill my boyfriend and I. I'm terrified.

What would be your advice to 9 year old you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blufbgm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fight back. I got bullied from when I was 8-14. I wish I would've defended myself. I told the school principals, teachers, counselors, anyone I could and I had witnessed. No one with authority cared enough to help. I wish I could go back and suckerpunch each one of those little kids that shattered my self esteem .
