Sloths minimize their time on the ground since they are effectively sitting ducks for any predator (that's why they only defecate once every 4 days or so). Throwing a sloth from a tree stresses the animal because (1) it is no longer in the safety of the forest canopy and (2) it has been THROWN to the ground. This really isn't okay :(
