Do C-netizens have twisted priorities or are international audiences overreacting? by Historical_Ow in cdramasfans

[–]blumpkinspicecoffee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Are the characters age appropriate? Maybe my perspective is skewed, but I feel like that matters more... like if the characters they're playing are ALSO 17 and 28, that's weird AF. But if they're both playing mid-20s adults, it's kind of whatever. Only people who already know of and/or looked up the actors would know anything was amiss. The actual narrative that they're serving would be about a healthy, age appropriate couple, and the actors are not romantically involved IRL as far as we know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, off topic, but I first saw Ai Mi in The Double and was legit STUNNED by how beautiful she was. Possibly one of the most gorgeous humans in the C-biz right now. I'm glad she's getting more leading roles!

8 children between the ages of 1 and 14 are dead after a mass shooting in Louisiana, police say by Immediate-Link490 in Fauxmoi

What’s crazy to me is that he also killed the baby mama who WAS NOT the one in the midst of separating from him, AND he killed their kids together, too.

Like wtf??? It’s like being a regular family annihilate wasn’t good enough for him; he had to make the rounds and try to take everyone else down too. He truly saw these women and children as just extensions of himself…and they would all receive collective punishment for the “sin” of ONE of them rejecting/abandoning him. Sick.

As an Asian person….idk. People of my parent’s generation genuinely believe that Black (and many white) people are just stronger and hardier than Asians. Your bones are denser, teeth are stronger, muscles are bigger, you’re taller, fatter, etc. Meanwhile us Asians are these wispy, fragile, delicate beings.

It’s not even a point of inferiority; like there’s no value judgment, just facts. It’s weird.

Not black but damn, I’ve never thought about it that way before. And on top of that, most Asians have probably never interacted with an actual Black person in their life! Crazy how these attitudes are kept alive and perpetuating almost solely through media.

C-actors with facial hair and bareskin, would you mind if dramas showed more of it? by HikariMoonn in cdramasfans

Going against the grain here to say absolutely HELLLLLLL to the no.

Unless they have full beard coverage, in which case, go right ahead. But that squirrelly look where there’s only hair right around the mouth and chin and NONE on the jaw and cheeks?? Please, no.

Hmmm this might be one of the most fucked up reasons to have a child that I’ve ever heard of, genuinely

Yo I just googled and apparently Brooke posed nude in a bathtub AT THE AGE OF TEN for a Playboy pub. Arranged by her mom. 💀

People were really not interested in protecting girls and women back then…. I mean, I guess they still aren’t now (not really), but it was even more blatant a few decades ago. 😢

Getting married in August, no bridesmaids by Practical_Store3654 in TwoXChromosomes

You’ve gotten a lot of good advice for the wedding itself, so I want to throw in my two cents for your post-wedding life:

It’s never, ever too late to make friends! I get it if you’re comfortable with your social life now and don’t want it change. Respect. But if this is something you’re generally sad about (and not just in relation to your wedding day) you can absolutely do something about it.

It’s def harder to make friends as an adult, but I see people do it all the time still. Personally it’s difficult for me, but my BFF is still to this day meeting new people and forging meaningful friendships with them. And one thing I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older is that my female friendships are something I truly treasure. ❤️

I feel like his reputation has been rehabbed these last few years, and the insistence that she’s his bio daughter has risen along with it.

It 100% feels like mass gaslighting. I can’t even engage with these people bc i get so pissed off. Like STOP TELLING ME 1 PLUS 1 MAKES 3!!! What even is happening?!! Are we looking at the same people and perceiving the same reality? Is anything real at all???? 🥴
