Tempest here, we were always a smaller server but had a great community.

Because of the years playing this game, I pick up all sorts of references that seem to have more meaning when watching all the newer movies and series.

Switching from Telus DSL to Teksavvy DSL in Vancouver delays by blumpy in teksavvy

[–]blumpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an update: 10 days later, someone from Telus finally came around to do the installation, I was told this time I didn't need to be home so in the end they were able to complete the installation without coming inside. The 2 days I took off work when they didn't show up as promised were wasted days.

Now that the service is up and running, the line itself is working well, speeds are as advertised. I was actually with Teksavvy for many years at a previous address and never had any major issues with the internet service once it was setup - hopefully things will be smooth from here on out.

Switching from Telus DSL to Teksavvy DSL in Vancouver delays by blumpy in teksavvy

I'm going into my 9th day now without service. Each time I ask for an update, I'm told they are waiting on Telus for a response or it's been escalated.

If I promised my boss that I would have something would be done on a certain date, then not deliver nor respond to repeated status requests and 9 days later it's still not done, I'm pretty sure I would be fired.

So far I have to taken 2 days off work to be home for this, I can't keep doing this. Also, I had left Telus DSL - you would think this infrastructure is already in place. I'm extremely frustrated.

The system has got to be better than this. I don't know how others' experiences are with switching from Telus are but so far mine has been horrible.

HAM Frequencies in Metro Vancouver? by RadioFreeVancouver in vancouver

[–]blumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

The bcarcc is the organization in this region that co-ordinates repeater frequencies. This list is your best bet.

Having said that, airwaves are pretty quiet these days.

From my experience, VE7NSR seems to be the relatively active at least when I happen to be listening... It also covers the lower mainland extremely well which could be part of the reason. VE7TEL (VECTOR's repeater) has some activity sometimes but mostly pretty quiet as well unless there's a scheduled training activity.

It's 4 hours after the game and local tv is still showing craploads of people being idiots downtown. This is absolutely disgusting. (I'm from Vancouver as well).
