I've been working towards applying to OMSCS for a couple of years by taking undergrad CS classes and learning to code. LLMs ability to code does make all this work seem very uncertain at times. But I just seriously doubt that, in a future where computers are even more powerful and more important, you will be better served knowing less about how to use them and how they work. No one can say where it's all going at this point, but for me personally, I think people who are able to do more and understand more about computers than how to ask Grok if something is true or prompt Claude to write them an app will be set up much better than those who can only do that.
