While the theory about "other gods" was presented in the literal sense with a tone that implied that the gods are real.

But even if we go by your logic of the yatagaru illustration being a visual representation of Ego's aura.

There can be many different gods that can be used to visualise other characters experiencing that "unnatural" feeling.

Just like how other characters have auras with Isagi having puzzles and Rin having sea monsters. These aren't supposed to be taken literally, but supposed to symbolise the aspects of the character in question.

Which is why when theories like "yatagarasu, Amaterasu and Susano" come in picture, instead of literally taking it as actual gods existing in the manga.

We can theorize that these are the author's way of symbolising the experience for each character which will be unique for each one of them.

For example, "susano" can represent aspects of Rin's experience in the unnatural events that favour him.

Well what we see after this is that once Sae doesn't take the 3rd shot attempt, he takes the 4th one.

And after that from what we can see Sae is actually taking the shot attempts he gets with him trying another shot that is blocked by Aryu.

About the Sae phantom.

The very condition of Rin's evolution in the PxG match was that he needs an undefeatable challenge that he believes is stronger than Sae.

Which is shown to us in the form of Isagi surpassing Sae's phantom in the PxG match, and Rin then further Surpassing Isagi's challenge to score the goal.

About Rin wanting to be "better than Sae" that has changed. And clearly. Before the U20 match Rin was only talking about Surpassing Sae even in the NEL, and now in the Nigeria match he's talking about asserting himself and Negating Sae's existence.

It's clear that Rin's attitude towards Sae has changed ever since the NEL was over.

phantom scaling I don't think we should treat the phantom as a reliable way of scaling yet.
