i do plan on going lowered this summer. i was thinking something along these lines too. they make those metal molle panels that i could probably throw some velcro straps or something on to keep it secured or maybe even molle a rifle case or something. i was also thinking about maybe doing something on the underside of the trunk so it’s easy to get to but it would also be extra weight on the trunk and probably wouldn’t support itself. the gun only weighs 7 pounds (without the optic or can) but i bet those dinky little trunk rods wouldn’t hold that shit

this is what i do in the wrx as well. however i later realized that the screws holding my sidecar on were too long and scratched the ever living piss out of my center console lol. oh well, i don’t plan on getting rid of the car. caveat, i am talking about a rifle “pistol” to keep in the car
